DawgsLife, you're absolutely one of the most reasonable dawgs on here. But you've definitely been a bit off your game here the last few posts. Confusing Auburn for Florida and:
Mullen's 1st season at FL was 2018. He has not lost to Tennessee at Florida. Worst loss at FL was indeed 2020 LSU. After that 8-5 Mizzou in 2018.
Kirby's loss to 4-8 South Carolina is definitely the worst loss out of the 2's tenures.
quote:
Let's see. Mullen lost to:
5-5 LSU 2020
5-7 Tennessee 2018
I won't list 2017 since that was his first season. Like I said....do you really want to compare bad losses? I am guessing you don't.

Florida isn't the kind of game UGA will lose. It's gonna be a tough game but y'all will get the UF win.
Weeeeell, there is a lot of history (semi recent) that says otherwise. Florida has a good team.
quote:Since Kirby has been at Georgia we have only lost one game that was completely out of left field. I mean you MIGHT count one or two from 2016, but in his very first year of coaching?
Of course, you'll still lose one to like Vandy, Arky, or Kentucky or something.
quote:You mean like in 2017 and 2018?
Then after that, everybody will hype you back into like the top 8 or so until Bama skull drags you out of playoff contention in the SEC Championship.
quote:And I would say there is a better than even chance that LSU will not be found. So, I'm not sure what your point is.
But don't worry, dawg fans. You'll be right back in the top ten next year for it all to happen again

Jacksonville is a bit away but it will be a good game. The last two both teams had injuries. UF the year before and UGA last year. Hopefully each comes in relatively healthy. Will be interesting to watch and likely the determining factor for the division barring something crazy happening. Mullen and his running attack vs Kirby has his big boys will be a fun watch for sure.

I'm mainly messing with Gary tonight. He's pretty easy to get going and is so unreasonable it doesn't pay to talk sensibly to him.

Hmmm...my brain short circuited. You are right. I knew this was his fourth year. Simple math obviously eludes me.
However, to his point that Kirby always loses an easy game therefore Mullen is a better coach...well, there is that LSU game. You just can't find one game and hang your hat on an argument on it.
quote:Iwould disagree. (Edit: I took a look at South Carolina;s record and scores from last season. They were worse. I didn't remember them being that bad!) I mean LSU was pretty bad and easily could have lost to Arkansas and Ole Miss.
Kirby's loss to 4-8 South Carolina is definitely the worst loss out of the 2's tenures.
But yes, South Carolina was pretty bad. But the point is that Kirby is not the only coach out there that has lost to a team they should have beaten easily. And the
thing that makes Mullen's so bad was he benched his (arguably) best player.

Jacksonville is a bit away but it will be a good game.
quote:Amen to that. It's hard to tell who has the better team when one has a lot of injuries. That said, my guess is Florida would have won last year even if we had been totally healthy. Mullen has a really good game plan, and we had no answer. That and Trask and Pitts were off the chain good.
Hopefully each comes in relatively healthy.
quote:I would be shocked if anybody other than Georgia or Florida won the division. And I think either one of those would do well in the SECCG.

With Florida's performance against Bama last week. As Florida was obviously the better team on the field. Combined with the fact that UGA's victory over Clemson, after Clemson's piss poor performance against Ga. Tech last week, looks less and less impressive.
I don't know, it kind of looks to me as if UGA may be in trouble later on this season when they will face Florida. As Dan Mullen is a far better game day head coach relative to Kirby Smart.
As Kirby is famous for not only squandering away more elite talent without anything to show for it by far than any other head coach in the SEC and in college football, but at the same time for choking in more big games than any other college football coach in history.

Nah that’s cool. I get it. Our team is young and we have to languish in the 2-3 loss realm for a few years. We don’t get to contend but like every 4 years or so. But then every now and then we win a championship. It’s a trade off I guess. While we don’t get preseason top 5 rankings, we do get to play for and win multiple championships since 1980.

LSU gets lucky. Maybe it has run out finally.

2-3? In a shortened season LSU lost 5 games. You still haven't faced anybody terribly good, so I think 2-3 losses is being a bit optimistic.
quote:Funny, but the team you were just criticizing contends almost every year.
We don’t get to contend but like every 4 years or so.

Congrats on living in the shadow of Alabama. And enjoy Orgeron. In fact, I really kind of hope you do lose only 4-5 games. You would keep Orgeron in that scenario.

Do you REALLY want to go the transitive property route? because I have shocking news for LSU fans about some of the teams that are apparently better than LSU.

That's the difference lol
The frick? UF has the 7th best roster in the nation this year. He may not have a Ferrari but he’s not driving a Civic.

You said Stetson Bennett IV is a better passer than anyone on UF's roster. Then you said he was probably even a better runner than EJ.
Do you honestly believe 5'4" Stetson Bennett IV can make this throw?
LINK
That's when I realized that you were either a waterhead baby or just simply retarded.
But, by all means keep espousing your idiotic drivel.

You act like UGA has won the last five SEC Championships and Natty's in a row. When the truth is UGA hasn't won shite because of Kirby. While after Alabama, no other team has more Natty's since 2000 other than LSU.
Meanwhile, Orgeron has owned Kirby both times they played one another and the last time while he was on his way to winning a Natty. Something UGA can only dream about. The truth is UGA, like every freaking year that Kirby has been at UGA, is way over ranked and overrated.
I can't wait to watch Dan Mullen mop the floor with Kirby Smart for the second straight year in a row. As you UGA fans for years have been the most delusional fan based in all of college football. That's what not winning a Natty since 1980 does to you dumb retards.

No. That’s dumb. Pretty sure he is acting like LSU is a pathetic 7-6 in the last 13 games, and uga isn’t close to that bad. That’s ogre with one of the best rosters in CFB.
