Thought R. Harper was a bit bigger than this.

I’ll be honest George I agree 100% and I’m almost shocked at how well played on game 1. I think we can clean it up some but damn do we look good.

Agreed - I was fully ready to accept a workmanlike 35-20 type win. I really didn't expect to just roll in and pickup where we left off.
Very encouraging.

Jaylen Moody coming onto the field after having what I can only imagine was a super disheartening last 4 months and immediately showing he'd stayed ready - TFL and INT. Felt great for him.
What happened to Jaylen Moody? I feel like I missed something in the off-season.

Nothing new that I can add good or bad, nice summary. Just to echo how sick I was as well to see Allen get hurt and now out again for so long.
Overall thought the team looked very polished and lots of young guys hungry to make their mark on the program.

I think it's refereeing to Henry T coming in at the same position and competing for the job.

In pads that is incredibly fast.

Just the fact that he had a starting role right there in front of him and all of a sudden HTT showed up.
Not saying he got a raw deal or anything but that'd be tough to process. A lesser man would sulk and be woe is me.

Trey Sanders looks good. Not 100% and he's cutting like that with his vision, whew

New QB, new OL combo, new skill positions - for Game 1 we looked pretty good (Rat Poison Alert)
OL didn’t look great, but better than I expected out of the gate. People forget how rough that 2012 group looked the first couple weeks before they transformed into one of the best lines to play college football. If this is the floor of how good this group is and they go on to improve from here; look out.
HTT is that presence -mentally and physically- we’ve been missing for a while. Hope whatever his injury is just a minor nick.
I’m still not used to a kicker that doesn’t give me agida. Sorry, Will. PTSD from your predecessors.

biggest disappointment for me outside of your take is the coaches not letting our backup QB run the offense. Did we get many first downs with him in the game? He needs real life game snaps in case our starter goes down
Throw in the fact that CNS has said multiple times he wished they would have given Bryce more real reps last year...and you turn around and do it again!

Oh man, our LB reaction times over the middle were soooo good. I felt like last year our guys were constantly behind the play. Yesterday they flew to the ball and tackled well.
I loved it... One thing that kind of soured my enjoyment over the last couple of years, even with the greatest offensive show of all time, was our defense just looking clueless out there. Yesterday was pure fun again.
ETA: Trey Sanders is the best RB on the team. Love BRob, but it's the truth.

NS in his pressure that they were trying to run clock late in the game and you do that by running the ball. He said UM knew that and were hitting the gaps. I assume that meant they were playing like eight men in the box and plugging up every whole at the snap knowing what Bama was fixing to do. U still would have thought a quick Slant etc would have stopped that
Also on the one fumble he said that wasnt an OL issue and pretty much blamed it on the QB without mentioning him by name. He said that play was an RPO and i took it that mean the ball was to come out quickly if the QB was going to pass it.

Maybe it’s because he’s not at 100%, but his running style reminded me of Bo Scarbrough.

Why ask the ? SoG if you're going to cover it all.
Chris Allen's injury is awful. Makes me sick. Such a talent and team first player.
Good: team played a quality opponent in spite of MAJOR coaching and talent turnover without missing a beat. The D will carry this year's team long enough for Bryce to adapt to his role and the tools he has available. Could be a special year. Also, Latu is a beast that seems to be team focused at his position, so good on him. And, FG kicking surviving every jinx the announcers could throw at them was also a delight.
Bad: Refs (in spite of LSU popular opinion) hate us. That PI call on a clear push off that the WR knocked himself down and led to a free FG was BS
Ugly: injuries

My gosh, it was awful. I probably don't pay enough attention to other teams/games to know if it's just an overall CFB ref issue or not, but we get absolutely hosed on 1-on-1 PI calls where the WR initiates contact at least 2-3 times a game. It's infuriating.

Game after game it appears the Refs are allowing the WR to do the pushing but not the DB's.
