Does your internet provider charge you per letter typed?

Frank Broyles is my choice. I sat next to him on a plane for Atl. to N.O (he was doing color for the Sugar Bowl). He was one of the nicest, most entertaining people you'd ever want to meet...a great gentleman!

Pat Dye - his carousing stories are pretty epic

Shug Jordan - WWII Vet — stormed the beaches of Normandy (Purple Heart and Bronze Star) and fought on Okinawa, North Africa and Sicily

Imagine what Snyder could have done with top shelf talent. He put together some damn competitive teams that were cobbled together with 2-stars and JuCo transfers.

The all time best has to be Bobby Bowden.

Tom Osborne

Joe Pa would have been here for all the stuff he gave back to PSU, but his willful blindness shot that to hell.

I’ll second the Bill Snyder.

And Mack Brown should be in the OP.

I'd upvote you for Shug, he was a helluva guy and a great American, but I'd downvote you for Dye. Dye had little class and fewer ethics.

I think O is a good guy but definitely not a "great coach."

Darrell Royal became head football coach at the University of Texas in 1957, but no black athlete played for UT until 1970. The UT Board of Regents voted on November 9, 1963 to allow integration of all sports at the University, yet another seven years passed before Royal sent Julius Whittier into a game and into history as UT's first black football letterman.

quote:

Not many students on the UT campus today know that Royal could have integrated as early as 1964, but when they find out some are concerned that renaming the stadium for him may be inappropriate. Tim Johnson, a computer science sophomore and a member of the African American Culture Committee, says "seven years is way too long [to integrate the football team]."

Dabo Swinney and his sanctimonious BS is NOT the correct answer.
