What accomplishments?

To truly appreciate Finebaum you had to experience him back when he was still based in Alabama. He used to be a journalist, but he stopped doing that years back when he realized that all he had to do was say something negative about either Alabama or Auburn on the radio and his work was pretty much done - the phones would fill with fans of both teams wanting to have their say. His genius, however, was to screen for the really crazy-sounding ones and put them on the air instead of the other way around. The show was a slice of life that was endlessly amusing to those who are from this state and understand just how out there some of the people who live here are.

Honestly his show was this website before this website existed.

I've never understood why people constantly complain about a guy that has been the SEC's biggest voice on ESPN, and has basically said point blank the truth about the SEC's dominance. Alabama is, and has been, the best SEC team for more than a decade. Paul really respects Oklahoma and Texas, just not their Big 12 schedules.

Yeah, it's a little known fact that as an
illegal SPACE ALIEN, Paaaaaul has been locked up
a couple of times but Bama supporters, with the
secret backing of REC, came
to his rescue through targeted protests in front
of Birmingham SEC headquarters.

You are kidding yourself. The second he smells blood in the water he will turn. He did it with Bear and if Saban loses a step, the same will happen.
This. I guess a lot of people weren't aware of his show between 1995-2005.

Yep. Finebaum is, first and foremost, a frontrunner. Anyone who thinks he has an ounce of genuine love for Alabama only started paying attention to him after he weaseled his way onto SEC Network. Because circa 2000-2006 his radio show was basically Alabama hate week, every week, for years. The only good he has ever done as far as Alabama is concerned is pissing off Rita and blowing up the RichRod deal.

And it was primarily Neal Vickers who did the legwork there.

1. Bama is the top of the SEC whether we like it or not.

2. Frickbaum has his head up the arse of whoever is leading this conference.

A big secret though ... don't feel like you have to watch Finebaum to feel like you belong to the SEC. We seem him as a class-less Jerry Springer type who makes his money off the least common denominator.

Is this stat actually true? I know we’ve made LSU our b*tch lately, but I didn’t know it was this bad.

Now that you mention it, I think he did, actually.

If he does it’s probably because we’ve won 6 NC’s in the last 11 years.

He said, live on tv, 2 yrs ago : " the 3 greatest days of my life have been the 3 NC's that Alabama has won". He's openly bragged about "Mrs. Terry , showing me around their home, let me look into Nick's closet". He takes his promoting of bama to extremes. It all may well be an act but he's putting bama front & center on a show that's supposed to cover the SEC.

He's paid to do so. Much like their players.
