Per capita, Louisiana is producing the most NFL skill/speed talent, and by a large margin

Where are the speed and skill positions coming from in the NFL Draft? Just looking at WRs, DBs, and RBs from the last 5 drafts (2017-2021), Louisiana, per capita, is producing NFL skill/speed talent at a rate that is almost DOUBLE the next highest state (Mississippi).

Also interesting that in terms of speed and skill players per million of population (the right-most column), traditional SEC footprint states make up the Top 6.

Then why has Alabama beat them NINE out of the last TEN meetings?

Just hope they don't sign an elite QB from outside their state.

Interesting, thanks for posting. Curious, did they sort by birthplace or where they went to high school?

Because Rich Rod told your school "no" at the same time the best college coach in America gave up on the NFL

See Joe Burrow. (transfers count as well).

It doesn't specify in this case, but in the past these lists have been sorted by where they graduated high school.

LSU and Alabama had what I thought was the best rivalry in college football brewing a decade ago. The games were epic and LSU was winning.
But now y’all have lost 9 out of the last 10 games. Christ that’s hard to type.
What’s happening?

Unlike the skill position, the state doesn't produce much on the OL and DL positions that are SEC caliber.

Thanks man. I don't have anything other than anecdotal proof, but my guess is Louisiana would have a higher amount if they went by birthplace. There have been several good players who moved to Texas and other states at a young age due to Katrina. I also suspect Florida would have a lower amount, because it might have inflated numbers due to IMG and other sports academies bringing in players from other states.

Good point, IMG alone would skew Florida's numbers dramatically if graduation is indeed the criteria.

Hell those go to Bama
The last two top OL prospects from the state went to Alabama and Auburn.
You got one of the last, Cam Robinson, and Auburn got the other, Greg Robinson. Les was terrible at bringing in quality at the line positions.

Could have something to do with bama winning the National Championship 5 times in the last 10 years and typically recruits a top 1 or 2 class annually.
You act like other teams consistently beat bama, who besides Clemson has fared .500 or better in the last 10 years.

What is RDdawgs opinion in this per capita thing they speak of?

I consider every Louisiana product fast as hell....they breed stupid athletic fast twitch guys down there.
