I don't understand the controversy over "per capita."

How is that not a valid metric?

Read above, it's an interesting stat but it doesn't really imply what some people think it does.

Les literally lost his soul the last 4 years at LSU. He got into a pissing match with Alleva and shot the bird at the LSU fanbase by not changing his offense or recruiting capable qb's.

Look at the qb room at LSU now and Howard coming in next season. Look for things to improve immensely this season. LSU will once again have a nasty defense. Best d line since 11.

Your team gets every 5 star in every state, every year. On top of that, every 3-5 years you hire a failed NFL Head coach to come run your offense. It pays it's dividends.

Typical Tennessee going to Ontario for recruits but can't even get them in their own backyard

Just leave those Canadian basketball guys alone, please. We're doing okay with them right now.

t is an interesting stat, but it doesn't really translate beyond that.

Alabama has more top rated recruits overall per state, but Louisiana has more per capita. Which state do you want to recruit from more? The one with the more overall recruits. Which in this case is still pretty close, but it just kind of highlights because nobody is talking about Alabama in terms of a top talent state.

Which is why California, Texas and Florida are the pipeline states everyone wants to be recruiting in.

So as much as it would be fun to give LSU shite for the perception that they have so much talent and can't benefit from it, it's not really true.

Not really, LA and Alabama were different by 1 player for NFL 2020 rosters. 2020 US Census data, Alabama has 5.024 Million people, LA has 4.6 million people, about 350K difference in favor of Alabama (24th and 25th largest states in population). Alabama grew at 5.12% over last decade, LA grew just under 3% the last decade.

LA will improve for 2021 NFL roster, 3 1st rounders from LA, Chase, Smith and Etienne (2 of them did not play for LSU) Kelvin Joseph was I think #45 and of course Marshall, Shevlin, Mcmath from LSU are all LA guys. Rochell from Central Arkansas is from Shreveport Fair Park, Garret Willow from TCU to Housteon is from John Curtis New Orleans, Elijah Mitchell of ULL is from Erath, Rodarius Williams of Ok State is from Shreveport Calvary Baptist, Marquez Stevenson of Houston is from Shreveport Northwood, Isreel Mukuamu of South Carolina is from Bossier City Parkway (same school is Terrance Marshall)t might be Shreveport).

So 13 NFL picks from LA HS football. So LA which is about 1.3% of US total population produced 5% of the NFL 2021 NFL draft. Not bad in a down year for LSU.

they can't keep many of them in state because it's fricking Louisiana and nobody wants to live there.

Since Ed Orgeron was hired, literally every 5 star in LA has gone to LSU.

This was a cool thread about LA players having tons of success (Started by a normal Alabama fan) and the rest of the Alabama fans couldn't help but make this about Alabama

Everything HAS to be about Alabama, to their fans. They are a VERY sensitive bunch.

Fun fact: the last time a 247 five star player from Louisiana played somewhere besides LSU, his name was Cam Robinson, and the year was 2014.

Try again, gump.

According to 247.

But it is true that Orgeron has signed every single 5 star in Louisiana since he became the head coach.

Does it bother you that Ole Miss has twice as many wins against Alabama as LSU over the past 10 years?

Not really considering that’s literally all they have. I’m pretty damn happy with a national title last year just like every other fan in college football other than some from your spoiled fanbase would be.

But now y’all have lost 9 out of the last 10 games. Christ that’s hard to type.

What’s happening?

It showed 2 dudes with Alabama logos. Devonta Smith and someone else.

To be honest, Bama fans don’t count very well so 2 dudes equals them all.

Check out the Ala/LSU series win/loss numbers before Saban and get back to us.

Edit: Coach Bryant went 30 years without losing to LSU in Baton Rouge (1970-2000).
