One side of me says they lose all their big games. The other part of me thinks they would be in the playoffs every year in another conference.

Georgia is comparable to John Cooper under Ohio State.

So did Tennessee.
I would love to have Georgia's success.

Is 4 top ten finishes in a row good? If your answer is no, I can't imagine what you think about Kentucky basketball

lol so a Kentucky fan doesn’t consider the SEC championship or playoff games “big games”?

They are good but not great because they can’t win a natty

Yes they are good. They are way above average. Are they where they want to be? Well no. But man they sure have gotten close in recent years.

It’s a school with tremendous resources in football. If they can keep the top talent in Georgia, they can be top 5 every year.

So there’s one good football team every season and the rest are not.

Damn, you really hate Kentucky.

They are a good football program and have been for the last 20 years or so. Georgia had national championship-caliber teams in 2002, 2007, 2012, 2017, and 2018 but just couldn't get things to bounce their way when they needed them to in key moments.

They are pretty good in the first half...the second half not so much.

If UGA loses to Clemson and Bama in sec championship, then goes on to win sugar bowl against Oklahoma state, is that a good year?

There’s one national champ every year and in the last 40 years UGA hasn’t been named it. They are consistently very good and if they ever break the streak they’d be a great program.

In fairness, that may be why he is asking.
UgA has performed as a top 10 program for the last 2 decades. Oddly though, given their talent and scheduling advantage based on how the power shifted to the SEC West, they are likely underperforming as a team that could have been a potential top 5 program over the same period.
Richt really did a great job in the first part of his tenure in establishing a winning culture. However, he just couldn't get over the hump to translate all of those 10+ win seasons into something more meaningful. In turn, Kirby has cracked the code on recruiting and UGA likely has as talented a roster and as fertile recruiting grounds as any team in the country. But, similar to Richt, he has been very close to greatness multiple times but just can't get the ball across the line.
They are absolutely a top tier program in all regards. They just need some luck to go along with their resources.
