Since Arizona definitely won’t be in the ticket package, they better find a way to make sure Illinois is.

I’m gonna guess our ACC game will be @UNC.

So..

St John’s
Illinois
Arizona
Creighton
Players Era
@UNC

Once again Nate Oats is a mad man!!

NEWS: Alabama and Illinois are working to finalize an agreement to play next December in Birmingham, according to multiple sources.

There will be a return game at the United Center in Chicago during the 2025-26 season
Not gonna complain about two marquee games in Birmingham this season, but seems it would make more sense to reverse the venues/seasons and do Chicago this year and Birmingham the next.

Looks like we are 3-1 all time against Illinois.

1953: L 77-54
1986: W 58-56
1996: W 72-69
2015: W 79-58

Think their fans would be revved up for that one?

I wonder if Rothstein has the sites backwards and it’s in Chicago this year.

That would make more sense to me, but if it's true we're also adding in St. John's neutral-neutral this year and next then I guess we're going to get two Birmingham games at some point.

Someone asked Trilly about our assistant search...

Source who was involved in the search at one point said he’s looking for a defensive minded guy and isn’t worried about recruiting.

Wow, if you didn't shed a tear when he saw his brother you might not be a human.

This guy will be easy to root for.

That does not surprise me. Preston Murphy might be the best recruiter in the country.

Hope this means Nate knows Preston Murphy is going to be here for a good while. A show cause and zero previous head coaching experience may help us keep him in Tuscaloosa. I know Pannone had been interviewing this offseason so he obviously doesn't intend to stay as an assistant any longer than he has to, but the longer he stays the better too. He's a really smart guy and his video work has helped a ton with recruiting even though he doesn't get the same praise as Preston.

Per Nick Kelly the Arizona game would be pushed back one year if the Illinois series is finalized.

Arizona ran from us and Purdue this season. Now that they are in a strong conference they are pulling an Auburn and scheduling wins

1986 was in the NCAA tournament, IIRC. Maybe a 4 v. 5 seed game?

I can't imagine him hiring a non-recruiter if Murphy has indicated an interest in seeking HC jobs during the next hiring cycle. I hope we keep him at least the next couple of years so he can recruit guys he has had 2-4 years to build relationships with. Look what he did with 1.

Luke Yachlich sounds like the ideal candidate.

I think the article said Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of Thanksgiving week.

Interesting. If my Raiders have a home game that week too I might do my Thanksgiving at a casino buffet

Sounds like paradise. No cooking, no cleanup, and no one under 21.
