I hope he can handle it some. We probably don't have THAT many more scholarships left to give with the four coming in. One of those (maybe two) need to be PG. We likely won't have Sears coming back and don't have one on the roster or signed yet. I guess Wrightsell will probably be back (hopefully). He can handle it some, but isn't really a PG. We will also likely need to sign another big guy. Sherrell and Reid are coming in, but I would imagine Nelson won't be back (since he tested the draft "waters" last Summer) and I would be surprised if both Pringle and Wague are back. We can't even say that it's absolutely 100% Stevenson will be back, either, though you'd think he will be.

I was hoping to recruit PG, SF, and C from the portal. I didn't know that SG would be recruited first.

He was considered a combo guard coming in and seems to have passing chops, but I'm not sure if I'd be comfortable with him running the point for extended minutes. I think he'll be a lot like Wrightsell in the fact that he's good enough at it, but not ideal.
Estrada has pretty easily been our 2nd best player this year and has done a lot for us on both ends. He's going to be hard to replace, but I'm still holding out hope for Nolan Traore who's an NBA talent at the position, which would help.

I would be surprised if he comes to the NCAA. This is because there has been a lot of hype in Europe and Australia recently.

Id expect Nelson back over Stevenson. I dont think Grant has shown he is ready for the NBA.

Interesting that the first guy we bring in is a SG. Especially if we expect Sears and Wrightsell back. I’d rather bring in true PG and move Sears off the ball.

Do we have a chance or any interest in the 7'1" French dude from Stanford? Shot something like 36% from 3.

Would definitely not be upset with him, but I'd view him as more of a Grant Nelson type (ideally your PF). My #1 target right now would be Clifford Omoruyi from Rutgers. Tremendous defender and rim protector.

But is he a Midwest guy?

Sears doesn't want to move "off the ball." His best shot at pro ball anywhere is at point guard. Estrada also played point for us, and Houston Mallett replaces him. We will likely have more turnover, but I suspect Nelson and Wrightsell return, as well as Walters, Stevenson, Rylan, and maybe Dioubate. There are point guards in the portal, like Ja'Kobe Gillespie from Belmont, who has listed us. More every day. We are also listed with Freddie Fidler from Omaha, who lists us, and no doubt Murphy knows him. He is a 6'7" guard.

Call me crazy but i like the potential of Dioubate over Stevenson.

I hope Stevenson returns, wouldn't be surprised if he transferred to North Carolina

I don't underestimate Mo.D, but Mo.D is 20 y/o and Stevenson is 18 y/o. Stevenson is two years younger than Mo.D, but he is the same Freshman. Don't forget that Stevenson has been reclassified. Stevenson's potential is much better than Mo.D.

Stevenson was gonna be a Consensus 5* McDonalds AA if he stayed in his class. He needed that last year of HS as he clearly wasn’t ready. But you can see the potential.

Doesnt mean what it used to. Seen a whole lot of them bust.
I like what i saw out of Mo this year. Herb couldnt shoot a lick either when he was a freshman.
What does Stevenson do best? I think Mo is a great rebounder and he shows good potential getting to the rim and finishing.

Potential is an assessment of a person in the future, not right now. Once again, Stevenson is 18 y/o and Mo.D is 20 y/o. It is natural that Mo.D is now more mature, has excellent strength, and has good athletic ability. Stevenson reclassified not ready for college basketball and he is still learning.

My question is it a good idea to take these under age kids. They are not ready to contribute and if they dont play there is a good chance they will get mad and transfer.
