My question is it a good idea to take these under age kids. They are not ready to contribute and if they dont play there is a good chance they will get mad and transfer.
While most young prospects are likely to do that, there are others who don't. I think that's a challenge for the coaching staff to address. It is their ability to ensure that young prospects remain for the long term.

Remember we took Stevenson really late in the game. I dont think coaches were counting on getting a whole lot of minutes out of him.
We also got Primo to reclassify and he was great for us. He seemed ready as soon as he showed up.

There is no problem with playing time at all. He played good defense in the first half and hit a 3-pointer and a free throw. He played good defense in the second half too.

Have you never played basketball?
The reclassifications of Guard and Big man are not the same.
Guards can be overcome with basketball skills even if physical strength is not complete. However, if a Big man does not have complete physical strength, he will not be able to participate in the offense and defense in college basketball. Big Man must continue to fight tough with the opposing team's big man from the perimeter to the post.

Just looked at each of the guys we've reached out to, and Ja'Kobi Gillespie seems built for our offense. Shot 71% at the rim which consists of half of his attempts (an absolutely unheard of number for a 6'0" guard), 39% from 3, and would likely become our best set-up man (4.2 APG) to replace Estrada. Averaged 2.2 steals and made the MVC All-Defensive team. The 6'0" part is the only downside, but at least he has a reputation as a good defender. We'd still likely need to stagger him with Sears and Wrightsell to where only 2 are on the court for extended stretches.

Kobe Johnson might get a look.

Can we stop with the Stevenson slander and transfer rumor. Dude stretches the floor for us and at times showed elite defense.
He needs to develop physically but he’s going to be a great player for us. He also likely influenced some of the guys we are bringing in next year. No more narratives unless he actually enters the TP.

NEWS: 2025 Top-25 prospect Sadiq White is down to seven schools, he tells @On3Recruits.
The 6-8 PF is the No. 1 player in NC.

Sadiq White, one of the top power forwards in the 2025 class, has narrowed his list of schools down to seven. Moving forward, the 6-foot-8 junior out of Myers Park (NC) will consider Alabama, Arkansas, Georgetown, LSU, Syracuse, Tennessee, and Texas.
Ranked No. 25 in the On3 Industry Ranking, White has taken unofficial visits to Tennessee and Syracuse. The four-star recruit plans to start scheduling official visits in the near future.
4-star PF Sadiq White names top 7 schools
Another NC player?
Surprisingly, there are no NC schools in his Top 7.

Our class will be adding some significant length to the roster next year.
Sherrell - 6'10"
Reid - 6'7"
Cunningham - 6'7"
Mallette - 6'5"
Hopefully all 6'9" of Kris Parker stays and debuts next season. His length on the perimeter would be fantastic.

It would be cool if we included transfers on this thread instead of in the hoops thread. It is recruiting, after all. Plus, that thread is busy as hell, and this one could use some love.

Yeah, anything related to prep recruiting and the transfer portal is supposed to be posted in this thread while everything else about the program is for the other thread.
I feel like I did a much better job at managing these threads the last few years than I did this year. The season thread went off the rails at some point a few months ago and I eventually just said frick it.
This thread is going to pick up big time once the offseason officially starts.

Beat their arse, Chad!
But kidding aside, i feel y'all. It's been a weird fricking year. I barely have time to do half the stuff i need to. And it was a weird season, especially towards the end.
But now? Roll Tide.

Sears is a senior correct? id love to see us hit the Stanford transfers. Peja Stojakovic son would fit perfectly on the wing and they have a nice PG as well.

Yes, but I think he has a covid year he can use if he wishes.
ETA: somebody correct me if that's not the case.

I don't remember the specifics but I know there were some politics with the MCD AA Game and the shoe companies. I had a kid a few years ago that since he/she(don't want to give out too much info about myself) played on the Under armour grassroots circuit that he/she(trying not to get doxxed) wouldn't be selected to the MCD AA Game since they played on the under armour circuit.

Looking at all of the transfers we've reached out to ot seems we want another guard. Preferably a ball handler and maybe a 4/5. I hope we get Jordan Sears from UT Martin. He is small but very skilled. Hopefully this run can sway some guys.
