what the hell is he coaching that makes him great?
Idk what he does but he’s won 2 national titles and competed for another 2 in the last 5 years
quote:
There really aren't a lot of schools he could pick where he could maintain his current roster talent (like anywhere outside the SE) and where that roster talent would be so head and shoulders above the rest of the conference that it really doesn't matter how he coaches.
I disagree completely, he’s already built his name and won national titles, he’ll move to another school and be able to attract kids because of his name and results
quote:
But what is Dabo bringing?
As I’ve said, his name, and results
In the last 6 seasons he’s made 6 playoffs, 4 national titles and won 2
Recruits will come to the regardless of where he goes because he’s built that
I get we aren’t supposed to say Clemson is good, but this guy if fricking good and he’s got two rings to show for it. And we only have ourselves to blame because of that

I blame Spurrier for a lot of Dabo's success by promoting the "State Championship" so loudly when he couldn't win an SEC and giving Dabo the platform to respond to all the hbc's zingers. Before that he wasn't a media darling. Wasn't really hitting on shite before to be honest. And then Spurrier nuked everything he'd built before riding off into the sunset of his alma mater. Almost seemed calculated

That and Tanner
He knew he was done and talked him into another year that crushed us

What he does is attract grade A talent to a D grade conference where that talent gets him a perfect season, every year. His biggest annual competition is FSU and us, so yeah...
So he takes advantage of an easy season, players all healthy, and 2 games left he's spent all season preparing for (deciphering play call signs) because now his talent advantage is a parity. So he sends Skelator out there with 8-9 dudes in the box almost every play, because that's all they know how to do on defense, send their talented front at your QB, and stop the run.
To me, Dabo is just a yet to be exposed Hugh Freeze living in a cult town that wouldn't care even if he was exposed. Biggest difference is, once people realize how Dabo manages to land all that talent, he won't have any tangible coaching abilities for you or anyone else to point to. He wins, but if no one can say why, he's probably much more an opportunist than a great coach.
The point here was, he already has just about the best talent in the country, let's say his roster is 92-93/100. Well the rest of the ACC averages around 60, the FL schools sniff the 80s on a good year. So even if he goes somewhere else and manages to maintain that 92-93 roster talent, there's no other conference he could go that's as weak as the ACC, and so he may get exposed for not being able to actually coach (think, could he ever do more with less?) If he had an actual schedule to play.

You would've supported a Lattimore hire correct
I absolutely would not have supported Lattimore as our rb coach. Just because he was a great player doesn't translate to a great coach. He is also to passive for me. We had a great baseball coach that has destroyed our mens teams as AD. I didn't support that move either. My stance, again, is the SEC is not the confrence to cut your teeth on.
You don't want to hear about Hardesty not even being a rb coach at his last stop and never at a big time program. You don't want me to continue pointing out that the dc has never had any big time experience nor the fact that our OC was a asst. ol coach WHO DOESN'T EVEN HAVE HIS OWN OFFENSE DESIGNED and we are having to invent one on the fly. You want me to give other reasons because you cannot dispute anything I've stated because they are the truth. Right now you're going off of pure emotion and hopes and dreams while you're doing everything possible to ignore hard cold facts that are standing right in front of you.

But isn’t that what makes him a top “CEO style” coach?
I mean sure you say Saban has past experience, but does be actually do anything now?
He does exactly what Dabo does, hire top coordinators and analysts

No because he’d still be pulling in the same talent, and would have an even larger budget to do exactly what Saban has done
frick even Orgeron in 2019
I’m sorry but I disagree completely with your assesment of Dabo and I think it’s all just sour grapes
That is the new CFB, CEO style coach and overseeing a large group of coordinators and analysts
And he does a very good job at that

Also this... when is that going to happen?
We’ve been waiting for this for years now. And nothing

Cold hard facts that mean jack. Flour and water makes biscuits. Thats not all that far from a krispy kreme donut right? Let the ingredients go in the oven before you bash what comes out

I will admit
I’m much more optimistic with Beamer than when we hired Muschamp

Cold hard facts that mean everything. And hell no flour and water does not make biscuits. You need shortening, baking soda, and buttermilk. Are you even from the south? Also biscuits would be closer to dunkin doughnuts because they are cake dounghnuts whereas krispy kreme is not.

As you can see you have no clue about what ingredients to use to bake exactly like the coaches we have.

Look I like your enthusiasm. I want my Gamecocks to be winners but I've been a Gamecock fan since the early 70's and I've learned that ignoring facts makes you a sucker later on. Ive sat in those bleachers watching us beat Southern Cal and lose to the Citadel. If you see a train wreck coming you should point it out.
You do have some awesome hobbies I will admit.Nothing like archeology and history!

Here is a way to make from scratch biscuits that I 100% promise will be the best you ever had:
SOSFAN BUTTERMILK BISCUITS
1-5lb bg of self-rising flour
around 2. 5 cups of shortening ( crisco works)
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 quart buttermilk
Add all dry ingredients
Add shortening
Use a fork to crumble shortening throughout flour. You want to end up with pea size shortening throughout the flour
Add buttermilk
Using your hands with fingers spread out start mixing by lifting the flour about 10" in the air and continue until everything is mixed ( this adds air to the dough and makes the biscuits very light)
roll out and kneed ( fold dough over and into itself) a few times until it has firm shape and rollout until 3/4" high and then use biscuit cutter or even a glass juice cup works.
Make sure oven is preheated to 400 degrees
Spray baking sheets with pam
bake 8-10 minutes ** after 5 minutes turn the pan around so front is now the back**
Once the tops are golden brown take out and brush hot melted butter on top of the biscuits. ( I promise that those same biscuits will still have a soft top the next day)
Use honey , straight from the hive, to dip those biscuits into and enjoy life.

Here IBG I know you don't have a smoker so here is a simple pulled pork recipe of mind I use in a crockpot.
1-8 to 10lb boston butt ( bone in or boneless)
Bad Bryon's Butt Rub
Marinate the meat the day before by covering the butt with the Butt Rub ( Use as much as you want)
Let sit until in a pan covered with foil in the fridge until the next day.
To cook place in crockpot on high ( do not add any water). Leave the roast alone for all 8 hours ( make sure you hit 180 degrees fully cooked). When done take out and wrap in aluminum foil for an hour. During that hour put the crockpot ( with all the juice still in it) into fridge. Let that sit for an hour then scoop the fat off the top and dispose. Pour remaining pork juice into a container.
Put butt back in crockpot and use two forks to pull meat apart. Pour the pork juice you saved over the meat and mix up.
if u want to then add your barbque sauce u can cook it for another hour or serve as is.
Note: It will be pure torture smelling it cook for the 8 hours.
There I've made some optimistic post to the thread.
