I'm pretty excited about the new staff and what the future holds for the football team. I think that the roster is in better shape than most admit. I believe Muschamp had the absolute worst vibe going though the program and was out of touch with the game as its played today. I like the transfers we got from the portal and believe they'll contribute. Will there be some lean years before the team gets turned around. Probably. But at least we're not getting worse. My Dad had a saying...When your ox is stuck down in the ditch you dont jump in on top of him. I won't bash Beamer or his staff until given a reason to. I'm glad the staff is all new blood and not journeymen SEC coaches. BC those guys looked at Carolina as the low spot on the totem pole. (See Auburn/Bobo/Friend/Rocker) Look where that got us. I like having a staff hungry to prove themselves. A staff that considers SC and their job here as big time. I started this thread bc this board will suck the life from anyone who isn't down with the sickness/pessimism and there needed to be a thread for us "delusional" folks to be happy in. Call it the padded room. Muschamp is gone! If rock bottom has one thing to offer it's solid footing to stand back up! Get up Gamecocks!

I positively think you're out of touch with reality.

Its impossible to physically get worse. Unless we lose one of those 3/4 guaranteed wins.

Gotta agree here
I love College basketball but it just ain’t the same, especially for a program that doesn’t go to the tourney
Win or lose there’s something magical about Saturday’s in the fall

Just wondering, what makes you so sure of him? What has he done for you to crown him your Messiah of Football?

Messiah? Thats quite the title. Don't know what i said to have you going that far. But I'll give ya my reasoning to support him wholeheartedly. He's our coach. Young. Energetic. Already loved Carolina. Hungry for the opportunity. He's coached all over the field. Put together a solid staff. He isn't likely to bolt if/when he finds success. He's likable and comes across great in interviews. Worked under legends. Is extremely knowledgeable about recruiting and roster management. And he chose SC to make his name at. That in itself takes balls. And his name carries some weight already due to his family pedigree. He's done a good job so far and handled the Auburn departures with class and hired pretty good to replace them. We dont have bad coaches. At all. And he has reached out to former players to bring them back into the fold. Would it have been nice to have hired an established sitting head coach? Yep. But we didn't. And lastly i have NO reason not to support him. Im not a grumpy arse. In response how about giving me some reasons you don't support him? Tell me which staff member sucks as a coach and why?

I reread the OP and dont see where I gave Ray Tanner and the BOT credit for anything, much less cheerleading. You're funny

Nice to see Beamer hiring more analysts. Up to 5 from Muschamps 2. Its another step in the right direction

After watching Running Backs Coach Montario Hardesty interview, I'm pretty impressed.

LINK

Also another tidbit from that interview, both Kevin Harris and Marshawn Lloyd are engineering majors. They smart.

This is what I like to see. I don't care what big headed "proven" coach we could have picked up, if they can't hire a bunch of analysts to keep them ahead of the gane, they'll be failing in a few years regardless. Get us some energetic football schemers that love to break down the game, strengths and weaknesses, and develop your game plans based on those studies. Not Jim Bob's gut feeling because that's all he's got for $6M a year.

Positives - I’m divorced in a month. Still young, debt free, still have my career, and I’m dating a hot woman who’s younger than me.

We have Harris and Lloyd in the backfield.
