I was Looking back on Saban’s star studded classes through the years. There’s a bunch of guys that transferred out, but I was super excited for at the time. No flame towards them- it just helps put the success of other guys into perspective.

1) Star Jackson- so pumped when we landed him
2) Phillip Sims
3) BJ Emmons
4) BJ Scott
5) Tana Patrick
6) Richie Petitbon
7) Chris Black
8) David Cornwell
9) Dee Liner (best name)
10) vandarius cowen

Honorable mention: Parker McLeod lol

Who can forget Tyler Love, the 5-star offensive lineman who never once saw the field? He might be the biggest overall bust of the Saban Era when you factor in how highly he was rated.

Rod Woodson was suppose to be an enforcer at safety.

Turned out he wasn't even the best DB in his HS secondary, 2* Darren Bates was...

I still never learned WTF happened to Grant Hill. Dude was a fricking beast and then just disappeared... was it mental issues?

Star Jackson-

He was here in Palm Beach County at Lake Worth HS. I never could figure out how he merited such a high ranking. Didn't look all that special to me.

Tana contributed.

And he had the awesome story of Lane taking UTn recruits to Gatlinburg and throwing a pecan log roll put the bus window.

Rant story about Kiffin

Don’t forget about Mike Ford. I believe he committed to Bama 3 times but could never make it into school.

Who was that Mississippi player of the year that was so highly recruited?

I think he came along during the Shula years, but Saban may have coached him during his first year.

I remember that he was an offensive player that I think was converted to defense.

I also remember that he had a drug problem and was arrested for it.
