Johnson or Brennan?

Are we really sure that Myles Brennan is even better than Max Johnson? I can't be the only one who thinks this, and I am an LSU fan.

Not sure if this is a troll. But I will answer with; The new OC and PGC have said the QB battle will be wide open. Hopefully they chose who runs the Offense over seniority. Time will tell but let’s all hope Spring practices are not limited

Johnson looks the part. I hate to see LSU with a top flight QB from out of state. Think about it.

Who cares, it’s a good problem to have

Who names their kid Max Johnson? Yes I know who named him but that tough.

Brennan has the better numbers with less support

I think it's Brennan if he's healthy and there's minimal chance of reinjury. It sounds like it was pretty serious.

Who knows. The OC has to figure out the plays before selecting a QB

The spring is for finding who’s best:
Brennan
Johnson
Finley
Nuss
The best should be the starter. And yes, I think max may be #1. Not sure if max will ever play.

I prefer Max Johnson. Brennan lack of pocket presence. His inability to get rid of the ball under pressure or evade the rush and taking unnecessary sacks was mind boggling for a 4th year player. It was nearly impossible to convert a 3rd down with him under center. He’s got arm talent and can make nearly every throw from the pocket but I don’t think the mental part of the game or the athleticism is their enough to be a championship level QB in the SEC. if he ends up being the guy I hope he proves me wrong but I think Johnson and Nussmeier are the answer at QB for LSU over the next few years.

Myles Brennan will be the best QB in the SEC next season.

Based on what I saw (which a very small sample - just the A&M game): Brennan. Max wax only slightly better than TJ in that game, and most of that came in the last minutes against backups. Max was 14/22 for 113 yards, or 5.2 per attempt. TJ was 9/25 for 155 yards, or 4.7 per attempt. Virtually all of Max's yards came in the last drive of the game, with A&M up 20-0 and the backups in.

If I were coaching, and I am not. I would tell all three guys they sucked last year and the position is open. Good luck.

I think Max Johnson will be the starter.
Myles Brennan is a good QB, but he's a fricking statue in the pocket. Slow and has terrible pocket presence.
Max is faster, and from what we saw while he got PT, had pretty good pocket presence for a true freshman. It also seemed like he was better at reading the defense and seeing where to go and what to do.

Brennan was only there a few games and his first was deer in headlights.
If I’m honest with myself I know Brennan is better QB.

I say Johnson has that Joe Burrow moxie and presence on the field that cannot be taught. He did what he did in the Swamp and against OM while never even coming close to being rattled at all. Extremely poised for a kid who was in High School the year prior. His future is bright. While Myles was breaking records in his first few starts and has the big arm, the team did not seem to rally around him. It was a totally different team offensively with Johnson in.

Honestly, I'd go with johnson while recognizing Brennan may be a slightly better option next season (Perhaps)
I think Johnson sort of has the IT factor and a much better pocket presence which i think is more instinctual than anything else. Although statistically I think Brennan may put up more pass yards and completions, I think that Johnson makes the offense less predictable and perhaps a bit more efficient. Johnson's play just translates to the modern college game better and certainly can cover for some deficiencies better
So the more snaps I can get Johnson as the starter the better. I think his ceiling is substantially higher than brennan's in the college game but the only way to get to that ceiling is to let him play

Well I think right now Brennan is still a little better. But, I think Johnson has a higher ceiling. But he was so young last year, and with more reps in the spring he may very well take Brennan's job. But I don't think he is there yet.
