He is really good at what he does. Breaks the game down better than anyone I’ve heard. Maybe even better than anyone in college football.

Gene does a really good job and he unlike so many of the media doesn't get anywhere near trying to make him the story.

Wonder if he’s simply content not having to travel like he would as a color guy or even a coach. He’s got a good gig making good money and has a lot more stable work week.

I've never watched someone improve from his first year to his second year as much as Chizik. He's become my favorite SEC Network analyst. Now if he could just rub off on Tebow.

Most of the reason he got of coaching was so he didnt have to travel and could watch his kids play sports and such. He still lives in Auburn, he runs a few local friend chicken franchises as well

Agree. I wonder how he'd be on a live broadcast. He's exceptionally good on both the radio and on TV. Best personality on SEC Network, although Dari Nowkhah is also great IMO.

Always been a big Chizik fan. Was a huge fan for him after he took the Auburn job bc I knew the ISU record was not a true reflection on him as a coach. He played such a huge role for those Texas teams in the mid-2000s. Without him, they probably don't win it all in 2005

Yet he was paid more as a bad football coach than he ever will as a great analyst.
