Before you munchkins come in here and say this is a response thread it’s not

Smith got the better of Stingley in 2019 and got posterized at home which was essentially Devonta’s Heisman moment if you had to point to something. He’s basically gotten the brunt of all of Devonta’s best moments on national television.

But then again I remember he’s gonna make millions of dollars pretty soon and really don’t care. Devonta is really the only receiver you can point to in Stingley’s career when he’s fully healthy that’s really his kryptonite.

Joe Burrow Heisman Moment:
- 30 yard scramble with 70 yard pass vs #4 11-1 Georgia in the SEC Championship Game

Deion Smith Heisman Moment:
- 20 yard catch vs 3-5 team

He beat him on one play where Stingley was looking at the sidelines

2019 LSU Best season of all time played against ~1200 scholarship players.

2020 Bama self claimed (seen that before?) Best season of all time played against ~800 scholarship players.

IMO Burrow’s Heisman moment was the fake pass versus Bama

Yet you think that if he played against Miss State, LSU would've definitely won. Hmmm...

He wasn't fully healthy this year. Despite that, Pelini, for whatever idiotic reason, put Cordalle Flott, statistically the worst graded DB in the SEC, on Smith most of the game this year. That ridiculous one-handed catch aside where Stingley was covering Smith, our gameplan was about as dumb as you could get to try to cover him. That's why you saw Ed spike his headset when Flott got burned....again for another TD

In last year's game, he got caught looking at the sidelines, Tua saw it, snapped the balland Stingley got burned. Can't make a mistake like that with a receiver as fast as Smith. The catch at the end of the game, he played press for whatever reason when we should have been playing off with a two score lead. Couple of freshman mistakes you can't make against a team like that.

Stingley will be alright. The way the game is now, good receivers are going to beat good DBs more than the other way around.

Is that the guy who played this year until A&M’s physical receivers made his arse quit?

Devonta won the Heisman when he returned the punt for a TD. It took him out of just being a WR and also having major impact on special teams as well and moved him into the Desmond Howard category.
