I’d like to see one name that shows that auburn is a top 10-15 college job.

Napier is a good get. He would make me a little nervous.

Napier will make a very good coach for a power 5 team. I know who Elliot is, but not that much about him.

Does AU go into this hire by not only hoping to get a great HC, but by also considering what collateral damage they can inflict on Bama with the hire, i.e. hiring a Bama assistant?
Be truthful.
Be truthful.

Yes we are 100% focused on Bama even though we fired one of the only coaches that can beat Saban

I don't think I have ever heard of a major school this century leaking so many different names for interviews. Top candidates don't exactly prefer for an interested school to leak the fact that they interviewed unless they are a lock for the job. This is a 5 million a year executive position, not an opening for the regional manager of a paper distributor.
As I have said before, my strong belief is that this whole charade is to set such low expectations for the fan base that they are ecstatic when AU hires Hugh Freeze.

Yeah, I think I’d try to hire Napier if I were the powers that be at Auburn...young, HC experience, up and comer, good recruiter, and been on the staffs of several top coaches; he could be coaching for a long time. My only worry on Napier would be if the LSU job came open in the near future as I’ve heard that might be his dream job...think I’d put a pretty high buyout on his contract for that reason...
Don’t know much ‘bout Elliot other than he’s a very good OC...more risk there as he’s never been the HC...

Woodrow Wilson just suffered a cardiac.

A guy from Tennessee, that went to Furman, coached for Clemson, Bama, and never LSU
You’re telling me his dream job is LSU?

One candidate, Coach Tony Elliott of Clemson should be seriously considered. Coach Elliott is smart, energetic and very successful both on the football field and in recruiting. In hiring a coach like Tony Elliott, Auburn will receive wonderful press and an overwhelming degree of goodwill throughout the country. I feel sure football victories will follow accordingly.

I liked the Steele idea better.... damn you Auburn you were supposed to make us feel better about Orgeron not hire one of these two guys who both in 5 years will be top 10 coaches if they go to the right place. I would take Elliot over Napier, not that Napier wouldn’t be a great hire, but Elliot imo will be a steal plus he could probably bring a couple guys over from Clemson and I’m sure his connections are through the roof. Not to mention the guy can flat out recruit!

No, I’m sayin’ might be...but dream job might be too strong...just something I read that he had great interest in the LSU job if it were to open up...and he’s been the head coach of Louisiana for the past 3 years so he knows the state well as far as recruiting/high school contacts go. Regardless, couldn’t hurt to put a higher buyout clause in a potential contract...

Chadwell? Didn't he beat Napier earlier this year?
