Sarah Fuller is taking the next step in her career as the standout Vanderbilt Commodores soccer player is transferring to North Texas to continue her career.

She will be a graduate transfer for the Mean Green soccer team next season.

Over the past few weeks, Fuller became the first woman to play and to score points in a Power 5 college football game. She joined the Vanderbilt football team in November after COVID-19 issues impacted the special teams’ unit.

She broke barriers by handling kickoffs and scoring PAT’s for Vanderbilt.

North Texas head coach John Hedlund noted that Fuller will bring veteran experience to the Men Green roster.
quote:

“A big part of our championship success at UNT has always been having a great keeper in goal for us throughout my time here,” Hedlund said on National Signing Day via the team website. “Sarah brings that presence with her experience as the starter for Vanderbilt this season and playing in the SEC. At 6-foot-1 she has the size, athletic ability and obviously, the experience to dominate in goal and add to our eight championships in C-USA. We’re excited to have Sarah for the next two years working on her master’s degree here at UNT. Welcome home!”
It was just a few days ago when she announced that her football career had come to an end after the Commodores cancelled their final game of the year.

“It looks like my time as a football player has come to an end,” Fuller wrote on social media. “I would like to personally thank the entire Vanderbilt football team, coaches, and support staff for this amazing opportunity to be a part of this program. I was accepted as an athlete and a true member of this team.

“This is an experience that I will never forget and will cherish forever. Good luck to the seniors and staff who are moving on to new adventures. My best wishes to the team as this program moves forward and continues to grow.”

Pretty surprised she isn’t moving straight to ESPN Gameday Host.

Couldn’t get into the Vanderbilt master’s program? What a loser.

IIRC, she was a first-time starter this year (as a senior) at goalkeeper, when they won the SEC tournament.

ETA: Looks like she actually didn't start until the fourth game of the season.

I'm floored she's not already been given the Heisman, a Nobel Prize and been asked to work on a better vaccine.

All the posters that topped out in high school ball can't handle this elite athletes success.

It’s a smokescreen.

Going to be hired by Head Coach Kevin Steele at Auburn to help Loefler and Mazzone Coach up the offense.

She’ll help on defense as well. Muschamp will be her mentor along with Brian Van Gorder and Ellis Johnson.

I thought she was going to go in and compete for the goalkeeper job? The Vandy women’s soccer coach said she would have the chance to do so.

Doesn’t like the competition?

We need her at UGA to augment the S&C coach who we have doing a horrible job at Special Teams.

(sarcasm, if that isn't obvious)

Don't follow soccer, but being the goal keeper and winning the conference title while being a lower seed is fairly impressive. Guess she made her mark in that sport.
