“I heard Paul Finebaum talking about Vanderbilt. He didn’t think they could win one, he said. To tell you the truth, I don’t know how they’re going to win one. Because they don’t have Arkansas on the schedule,” Spurrier stated

Spurrier will always be Spurrier but that doesn't change the fact that he drove South Carolina into the ground and once he realized how bad it was said "frick it, I'm out" mid season.

At least Arkansas can suck for an entire season without giving up.

Spurrier must have forgotten. Arkansas doesn't have Chad Morris.

Great coach, but also overrated. How his tenure at UsC ended, not so much the football part, but the ethical part of quitting on his team/staff. Plus no undefeated seasons as UF, and only one natty. And that one he was lucky to get a mulligan against a team that had already beaten him once that year.

Respect Spurrier’s career but the way he ended it at South Carolina only to show back up at Florida and in the Xfl is just complete loser shite.

If you are going to quit on your team at least retire for good and don’t show back up - even in whatever capacity his office job at UF is/was

Spurrier quit on his team mid season and they lost to the citadel.

He is a baby back bitch who loves to run his mouth but can’t take it himself.

I have taken to Spurrier in his twilight years, even though I wasn't as big of a fan as other Gators were. People deify their own coaches too much and try and tear down others. Love him or hate him, Spurrier is a genuine guy and what you see is what you get. He also ran a clean program which is more than most can say regardless of their win/loss record. Spurrier had a disdain for everything that went on at UF in the 80's and he would tell people so. He pissed off a lot of boosters, but that is who he was and he didn't like all the cheating that had occurred and he thought still may be going on.

Spurrier is funny as he'll.

He also lost twice in one season to Mike Dubose. One of those was an utter obliteration.

But he had Phil Fulmer's number when those were the two best teams in the SEC.

I’ve just never gotten why every time Spurrier says something folks act like it’s the funniest thing they’ve ever heard. I’ll grant him on occasion he has a good zinger but most of what comes out of his mouth is just like every other grumpy old man.
