Touchdown, but it would be extremely hard to overturn the initial call regardless of what the Ref did

Correct, could tell when and where the ball was when coming out.

Same here, they had a healthy Knile Davis that ran over 1300 yards rushing in second half of the schedule. He had legit 4.3 speed.

He never was fully healthy here and it killed our chances in 2011 when he was out for year in August.

He was a lot better than Tyler Wilson that year as he didn't see much playing time. He had fumbling issues and he had an average arm, it didn't have enough zip like Mallet had.

He was a good quarterback but he couldn't stretch the field like Mallet could. Also he would get screamed at by Bobby because he didn't change plays and had a bad habit of throwing into double coverage when no one was open.

Arkansas lost that game when Mallet got knocked out.

Petrino could develop QBs.

That game was fricking incredible. Auburn’s entire 2010 season was appointment television.

The drop off was noticeable from Mallet to Wilson but Petrino was still able to get the 2011 team to 11-2 despite Knile Davis being out for the season.

If Petrino would have stayed then the Allen brothers would have developed better. Austin led the SEC in passing in 16 but got hurt the next year and never was the same.

Tyler Wilson was more mobile than Ryan Mallett. I actually think it worked out better in Arkansas’ favor that he went down hurt.

That was my impression as well, both quality QBs, but their offense was absolutely on fire with Wilson until that fumble return

Knile Davis is one of the more underrated players people don’t talk about enough just from a pure physical freak perspective.

At 225 pounds he ran a 4.38 and put up 31 reps on the bench press at the combine. Sure wish he would have been healthy his whole career here.

Maybe. Maybe not.

Mallet wasn't a world beater. Cam was.

Remember when Mallett hit Cobi Hamilton at midfield before the half against LSU? Mallett was great at throwing long ropes, but Wilson couldn't throw them. Mallett was great in our offense and a bigger threat than most realized, imo. Without the interceptions, that would have been a different game. Arkansas might not have won, it would've been closer.

Another reason the 2010 team was better was because Greg Childs wasn't hurt. IIRC, Childs was leading the SEC in receiving yards and he was never the same after his injury against Vandy.

Wilson wasn't that much more mobile and he certainly didn't grasp the playbook like Mallet did. He still threw interceptions that cost them a change to get back in it. The game was tied early in the fourth quarter.

He is in the same league as Darren McFadden. But he was bigger and more physical and yet still ran almost the same 40 time.

He was an absolute steal in recruiting because he had a major injury in high school. Schools stopped showing interest but Petrino stuck with him and it almost worked here.

I almost forgot a bout Childs. I think he was still playing hurt in 2011. He got healthier for the combine then had a career ending injury in spring ball.

We had no chance without Mallet and anyone are fooling themselves thinking that Wilson was an upgrade.

The chances of winning that game is very good if Mallet doesn't get hurt. That is the most explosive offense I have ever seen. They are extremely hard to keep up when everyone is healthy.

Ark briefly had the lead early in the 4th, then Auburn scored, then y'all gave up a fumble that was returned for a TD, then Wilson threw a couple picks to seal it. Forcing things

Agree Arkansas really missed having that elite running threat against Bama and LSU in 2011. Y'all might still have beaten us if you hadn't punted to Mathieu though

I doubt we would have won without Davis. Dennis Johnson was a good player but he wasn't on the same level as Davis. Without a running threat to keep the LSU defense honest, it made the offense one dimensional and the LSU defense shut them down.

Davis was a big enough loss that Petrino had to compensate by passing more in 2011. That offense doesn't click without a good running back. Because the power spread passes the ball in the first half and when they have a lead, run the ball in the second half and burn more clock. We struggled running the ball a lot in 2011.

Forgot all about that call. I remember being worried sick and livid that Mallet's backup was torching our defense.

But looking back at that 2010 team, Cam wasn't going to allow them to lose. I should never have worried but there were several points during games that I thought there's no way they could win. But, Cam wasn't gonna lose. I don't think I've ever seen a player put a team on his back and make as many big plays in big situations as he did.

The ball dropped straight down short of the goal line. The angriest I have ever been after a game. They got us again later too.

We fell apart after the fumble that was returned for a touchdown. If those two plays go the way they should have we probably don't get down so big to begin with.

Childs was far and away the best receiving talent in the SEC that year and best in Arkansas history. The stories on him were incredible.

He basically ate McDonalds breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

He was so physically gifted that one time him and Jake Bequette had a competition doing free weight inclines of 145lbs on each side during a workout. Jake got 1 more than he did.

He also wasn't exactly the smartest, but he was so good that Petrino told the QBs to adjust the play calls to say what he did at the end. So the calls sounds something along the lines of:

Double right X left cross power... block

Split wide y left juke B left... slant

Arkansas had a good team that year. It's amazing how in sync Petrino's offenses were. Been a long time since the Hogs looked like that. I had also forgotten how good a player Joe Adams was.
