Doctors' stories, new studies raise concerns about coronavirus immunity

Since the coronavirus pandemic began, there have been reports from doctors throughout the world about recovered Covid-19 patients seemingly becoming reinfected with the novel coronavirus, leaving some people doubting whether humans can become immune to the virus.

quote:

For instance, a physician in New Jersey has claimed that at least two of his Covid-19 patients had recovered from and tested negative for the coronavirus for months, but then started again experiencing symptoms of the disease and tested positive. One of those patients began showing symptoms of Covid-19 again after attending a party. "So that is … reinfection," the doctor said.

quote:

The physician said the second recovered patient who appeared to be reinfected was a family member of the first patient. According to the doctor, that patient had tested negative for the coronavirus for several weeks, and even had developed enough antibodies to the virus that he was able to donate plasma for experimental Covid-19 treatments before again experiencing symptoms of the disease.

medical experts are very concerned about it with covid for some reason. These are people who are trying to figure this thing out daily and who have been trained to do so.............unlike internet medical experts.

And there are medical experts that say football can be played safely with the proper protocols.

Did you read your own article?

"I haven't heard of a case where it's been truly unambiguously demonstrated," said Marc Lipsitch, an epidemiologist at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

but these aren't the medical experts the NCAA goes to because they are studying it daily. It is some Dr. at Stanford that teaches. I have yet to see one medical expert associated with the day-to-day study of this virus make any claim other than it should be taken very seriously.

He hasn't heard of a case but three Dr.s say it has happened with patients of theirs.

Again, you are quoting a Dr. who is a teacher and not part of the day-to-day with this virus.

ETA I stand corrected. Here is Harvard's contribution to covid study....

Nobody has said anything about not taking it seriously but that does not mean cowering in a corner.

Yes, people are. Medical staff's for the B1G and Pac recommended postponing the season. Both conferences are getting hammered for it by people who would have no idea how to treat a skin rash.

These medical experts are on the front line of figuring out a way to treat this virus. They are the ones who know the actual cause and effect of this virus.

Have you heard of Harvard? Do you know what an epidemiologist is???
You're too stupid to debate with!! Good day.

so every single epidemiologist is studying this virus?.........especially one who is a teacher at a University?

ETA you do know it was epidemiologist, who are actually dealing with it daily, who recommended the B1G and Pac to postpone. Different epidemiologist, who are part of the NCAA covd task force, also recommended all fall sports be postponed.............but what do they know?

You call people out for being " internet medical experts" but you yourself come across as being really informed about how all of these MD's saying how catastrophic COVID is. They themselves have no idea what this coronavirus is, and more importantly, how to treat it. As far as I am concerned these "internet experts" make as much sense as most doctors.

The Dr. who is advising the NCAA is the Chief at Emory. Have you heard of Emory?

If you actually clicked the link and read it, Harvard is studying the number of deaths. Emory is studying the virus and how to fight it.

I post links to what medical experts, who are studying this virus" are saying. The "internet medical experts" are all saying the same thing. "this is no worse than the flu". "it's a political thing". "Myocarditis has been around forever". "it's a commie plot".

I am not a medical expert but I will pay attention to what they say. The B1G and Pac medical experts said they should postpone. They are getting hammered by people who don't have a damn clue about the situation.

He also studied at Emory as well
and specializing in COVID transmissions

(COVID-19).

I imagine both schools are studying transmissions and "deaths"

Two things concern me the most.

1. The virus is expected to get worse in the fall, regardless of what happens with football.

2. Everyone is talking about the players, but I'm more concerned with the fans and spreading the virus.

The Big10 conference owns the TV rights to any Ohio State, Nebraska, or Michigan fball game. And, when your conference says no football this Fall, there isn't gonna be any OSU, Neb, or MIch fball UNLESS the BIg10 gives its permission.

So they have TV rights to their non conference games on the road? I don't think so.

There shall be no fans at the games! That is what it should be for this fall.
