B1G schools’ administrations have covered up domestic violence, sexual assault, and child rape in the name of football. To act like it isn’t a top priority to them is idiotic
Those coverups were done primarily within the AD and, if the Presidents or Regents are involved, it was strictly in a damage control capacity after the fact. Make no mistake, most of those Presidents hate college athletics (especially football).

I have no doubts that Ohio politicians will get involved in this. Ohio State is the biggest deal as far as college football in that state. A politician who can help get the Buckeyes on the field this season can propel their career.

I think he is doing all he can to keep his current recruits from backing out.

I’m still very skeptical about the SEC pulling off the season.

I don't see it happening. People just don't want to hear what they don't want to hear though.

It would be asinine to think players won't contract it. These players will not only spread it to their team but the teams they play. What happens when your starting QB gets it and has to miss two games? Most of your starting OL? It's just a bad deal all the way around.

Trying to make it look like the school did everything in their power to play so the fans don’t take it out on them.

Same thing Nebraska is doing.

The B1G pays more than any conference, including the SEC. Schools aren’t going to risk losing that money to play one season that will likely get cut short anyway.

Players have already been contracting it. Proving you contracted the China virus during a football game is damn difficult.

What difference does it make how they got it? Just look at baseball. Those guys get tested regularly. In a non-contact sport there have been 29 cancelled games so far.

It makes a difference when it comes to liability.

So you think schools won't be liable if a player doesn't pass his NFL combine physical because of a heart condition caused by covid? Don't kid yourself.

From what I've read the heart condition that's been spoken about is a heart condition caused by many viruses. Again you have to prove things in a court of law. Allegations alone won't do it.

I have been seeing people, who are also the ones who say this is no more detrimental than the flu, say the same thing about the heart. I am not a medical expert. I find it extremely hard to believe that the common cold can cause the heart to appear as though there was a minor hear attack.

Didn't some programs bring in their players in early to mid-June? And didn't dozens of players test positive back then? I'd think that a large portion of those players have already had it and recovered by now, leaving them pretty much immune to the virus this year.

What??? where did you come up with that.. The new president voted to play, although with a delay if need be. OSU could easily go independent if they wanted to with the 50 mill TV buyout a mere drop in the pan, but the won't, because academically they literally get hundreds of millions of $$ a year for their reknowned Fisher School of Business and also their Medical school. Michigan is the same. Both are highly rated educational institutions and the bIG X IS MORE OF AN ACADEMIC CONGLOMERATE THAN ATHLETIC. OSU is the big revnue maker in the BIG X and they cannot afford to lose them.

This isn't the chicken pox. You can contract it more than once.

We don't know that for sure yet. And even if it is, it appears that you are afforded some immunity for a few months at least. Enough time to probably make it through football season.

Most of the COVID players have had was brought in with them when they reported to campus. Since teams have been on campus with controls in place, I haven't seen many teams report outbreaks EXCEPT where players broke the rules of confinement and went out somewhere, like the Rutgers players that went to a party. If none of the players on the field test positive on game day, how are they going to give it to one another? If they test positive, they are out until a battery of physicians clear them medically. The adults in the room need to take over the decision making in this process, not the pearl clutchers and the lawyers.

Ask Ellitor. He mainly hangs on the Auburn board but he posts here from time to time. His Mom has had it twice.

That is all well and good but these players are about to be outside of the "football bubble". When you add thousands of students to the equation..............

MLB tests every day. The Marlins infected several teams in one way or another.

Look, most people want their sports..........especially college football. Let's send the kids out there when we aren't going to let fans in the stands? Brilliant.

If the China virus was so bad you wouldn't have thousands of students on college campuses. These same students will be drinking and smoking behind one another and sexing one another. Infections will happen and we can't stop that.

ding, ding, ding!!! Now let's send the football players, who have been around these people, out to play a contact sport.

ETA You do realize if one football player tests positive the entire team will be quarantined for two weeks, right? Say that happens in week three..........will the team they played in week two also have to quarantine for two weeks?
