Do you anti-student athlete posters wish they were paid now?

It would be a lot easier to have a path forward if we could call student athletes “employees”.

Nah. I wish they would do away with athletic scholarships altogether.

What would be different?

Sure. I say we pay them exactly what tuition, room and board costs. Plus medical and a nutrition program. We should do that. Oh wait.....

Not at all. However, since you bring it up.... the fact is they aren’t playing and may not play this fall. Yet, their housing, meals, school, books, etc... will all be covered.
Now tell me again how they aren’t getting paid. Why don’t you go post to fakebook?

Not at all.
They will learn a difficult lesson of what happens when you protest too much and try to breakdown everything you deem bad or wrong, and it’s not. They will soon see what life is like without the game that sustains them.

The Olympics went non-amateur decades ago. Let the free market run and take its course. We are a free country and if players can make bank while in college then they should be allowed to do so. This may ruin a sport we all enjoy but major college football and basketball portrayed as an amateur sport played by “student athletes” has been a charade for 20 years.

All those prices are inflated and they are worth more than the actual per person operating costs of dorms, shitty cafeteria food, etc.

Maybe at Mississippi State

My guess is the cancellation all of a sudden is due to the MLB falling apart. CFB would be less safe than MLB.
NBA and NHL can take measures that public universities just can’t do.

They are paid.
It’s also quite the leap in logic to assume that this has anything to do with the current pandering to the leftist mob that is happening

Apartments and gourmet dining here in Baton Rouge for football players.

Can we agree to kill this phrase along with "new normal" and "these uncertain times"?

It’s fairly low quality and low cost everywhere, bub.
The food itself can be pretty good (MSU’s seems to rise and drop and quality regularly), but the entire system is relatively low cost.

I’d love for those phrases to die, but we have to get rid of the virus first. Blame our dumb fatass, not me.

Yes, pay them and make them employees.
That way they are required to follow workplace conduct rules, which include zero politics, protesting, inflammatory things on clothing. Plus we can tax their income. Absolutely do it OP.

Doing things like that in bulk usually saves money.
