These insane covid rules will do it. I believe some major conferences will tell them to shove it.
There will never be football until there is a 100% effective vaccine under their rules.
Of course the NFL will love this clusterfrick. They can play.

Imagine going straight from high school to the nfl. These kids won’t have 3 years of physical training and will get crushed by grown men.

If the XFL was smart they'd just turn it into a developmental league for kids straight out of high school and college rejects. Less money to be paid and more of a market.

It can all go away as far as I am concerned. You don't get to tell me how I should think or feel just because you have athletic talent.

Zero major conferences will do anything like that at all. Every one of them will comply totally and will cancel their seasons by the end of next week

How will all of those expensive athletes get paid if there are empty stadiums and almost no television revenue?

Agreed. This isn't the NBA; you're going to be wrecked by these larger specimens in a heartbeat. It would be an INSANELY rare individual that could even be considered ready to jump into the NFL at age 18; I honestly cannot think of any who ever have. I dunno, maybe 50 years ago, but these days? No way.

I think it would be great for everybody. NFL gets it's dev league without having to manage/pay for it. XFL gets its niche. Kids that have no interest in school and want to get the most out of their body while they can, can get paid. It returns college football closer to it's natural state of amateur athletics.

Who's is gonna watch their games? ZERO pro FB leagues outside the NFL have ever succeeded in the last 50 year and minor leagues in other sports can only exist with a subsidies from the parent league.

NCAA is a corrupt bunch of dishonest executives and lawyers who draw huge salaries and punish their enemies and weak schools to make a show of enforcement.

The P5 put together their own set of covid rules... https://www.si.com/college/2020/07/16/power-5-conferences-covid-testing-college-football in conjunction with the NCAA. They aren't going to back out of the NCAA over this.
