Does this mean Arkansas can avoid an arse beating in South Bend??

Ivy League cancelling sports wasn’t a big deal but it opened the door to decisions such as this.
Yep that's what I was worried about as well. I believe Ivy league was first or one of the first to cancel their basketball tourney in March and many schools soon followed suit. We have given those nerds too much power and should no longer recognize them as D1

So Norte Dame may be arse’d out?
I'm guessing they would get to play their ACC games

What logic is this? Half these schools are closer to teams in other conferences. Why is it safer for Nebraska to Maryland than Maryland to West Virginia? Dumb.

So I guess
South Carolina- Clemson
Kentucky-Louisville
FSU-UF
GT-UGA
Are all cancelled as well?

That's pretty dumb. Nearly 2 months until the season starts.
Deaths continue to fall. What the frick are these people thinking and/or doing?

I'd like to know the logic behind that decision? How is it somehow safe for Ohio St. to travel to Maryland, but not safe for them to travel to Oregon?
Or in the SEC, how is it safe for LSU to travel to Gainesville, FL. but not safe for Texas to travel to Baton Rouge?
You can see what is coming from a mile away. It is the EXACT same thing that happened with the college basketball conf. tournaments. The Ivy League was the first conf. to cancel theirs completely. The other leagues initially tried to go forward (albeit with restrictions - no fans), only to 2 days later shut their seasons down.
Football is not happening people. There are simply too many loud voices fully invested in keeping this "shut down" going for as long as politically expedient with no actual regard for "public health". That's just the front they are using to achieve their goals.

I know this isn't official yet, but any word on if there would be a CFP?
Does each conference play and then they still pick the four teams, or does this whole thing negate any type of non-conference playoff system?

If we played a schedule with 12 SEC teams i'd be ecstatic.
In reality we'll probably just play the conference games on our current schedule, but a round robin would be absolutely amazing.

They won't do that. Itll be a 8 game season most likely
I am starting to wonder if they will have games every other Saturday to allow 14 days between games.

It's for this year only. You want football or not ?

Canceling the non conference games would actually be a good set up to jump into a 16 team playoff if they slid the schedules, but no way they would do that.

I don't see the state rivalries being cancelled.
SC Clemson
UF FSU
UGA GT
Kentucky Louisville
I think these games will still take place.

Hadn't even considered that. Very interesting.

They might be poo now but Maryland vs West Virginia is a heated rivalry. In terms of sheer heat in the stands that is a tough game to lose for both teams if it goes this way.
