Did you walk through the arch before graduating too?

Yep. I grew up in Athens and my mom worked in the pharmacy school. By the time anyone told me not to, I’d already done it half a hundred times.

Every time because I never expected to graduate.

Hell no. Noooooo

I never walk under. I also never let anyone new I take to a game walk under. I also never let my kids ring the Chapel Bell unless we win and they stay the whole game. Those are the first two lessons about going to a game that I taught them.

Yes

Absolutely not. And thank you for not being an unwashed heathen and calling it the Arches.

I haven’t hear of any prohibition to walk under the arch before graduating. Rather, in my day, it was don’t walk under the arch as a freshman. If you do, you won’t graduate.

Never.

I did but I just kept forgetting

No. I didn't do it as a kid afraid Id ruin it and then out of habit didn't actually walk under them until maybe 5 years after graduating.

I did once by accident walking homefrom Down Town one evening.
I still managed to graduate, albeit barely. Apparently never going to class makes it difficult to make good grades. My philosophy was always, "C's get degrees." Not shockingly, I graduated with a 2.13.

I never walked under before graduating.
I was told that an undergraduate walking under the arch would get pregnant.
I didn't want to chance it. I didn't want to deal with the fat jokes from my roommates.

Its hard for me to say I didn't with confidence because of tall the nights out where I don't even remember how I got home.
But I made every sober attempt to avoid walking through it.

I am not superstitious at all but you gotta respect tradition

I didn't walk through it until like 3 months after graduation. The line for pictures the night of graduation was too long and then I got too drunk and forgot to walk under it.
I avoided the Arch like the plague because I was always afraid I'd find a way to trip and fall through it.

As a kid, yes. As an undergrad, absolutely not.

Never as a freshman.
