What a hire Bruce Pearl has been for Auburn.
Please pardon my ignorance (I’m on a personal hoops self-teaching journey) ... but who was Auburn’s coach prior to Pearl, and where is he now?

Yes. LSU would get a trophy if the season ended today. Auburn would get the #1 seed in the sect though. last I checked there are co-champs like baseball can have

Barbee, he’s an assistant at UK now. To be fair, their aren’t many people who could have this success at Auburn. It was not an attractive job before Pearl.
