Obviously most are very confident on LSU here.

Was there similar confidence regarding Bama v Clemson?

No troll; I honestly can’t remember.

IMO it feels eerily similar.

I thought Bama would win fairly easily (about 10 pts) but wouldn't have been super shocked had Clemson pulled the upset (because they were a great team too). Didn't see the arse kicking coming at all.

We had a lot more support from LSU fans last year.

I don't think there was anyone in the country that thought Bama would have gotten beat by Clemson last year. It was a total shock to all of us. I'm also pretty certain that a lot of us expect Bama to be a favorite again next year. They're just that perennial powerhouse that has a tendency to steamroll nearly everyone they play.

It does feel similar from the outside, but this year, Clempson is the defending national champ, not LSU. Also, clempson doesn’t have 4 returning DL players that opted to forego first or second day money

Or a 23 year old QB.

Yes that’s also an advantage for LSU

So Clemson is the underdog just like last year (LSU favored by 6 - Bama was favored by 6 last year), but Clemson is Bama this year?

Absolutely. Maturity at the QB position is never a bad thing.

A lotta confidence in Bama
I thought they’d blow them out.
I was wrong

I say LSU blows them out this year.
Hope I’m right!

ETA: misprint!

I keep on hearing this fact repeated as if it’s the ultimate unfair advantage of some kind as if LSU has the entire squad shooting steroids or playing with 12 players on the field every play.

You realize this age thing isn’t that unusual right? Plenty of QBs in CFB over the years have played pro baseball before going back to college, west coast players do Morman missions, fifth year seniors and the new transfer portal etc etc.

Another words, if LSU wins tonight their isn’t going to be an asterisk on the the troohy because Joe Burrow is gasp 23 years old. Frankly it seems a bit bizarre as if your trying to comfort yourself about the coming game.

1000x this.

this narrative has been brewing and recently they've started drawing Zach Von Rosenberg into the mix. I mean c'mon. Seriously? in any other case our 23 year old QB is simply a 'fifth year senior'. Suddenly it is some kind of unfair advantage?

Most SEC fans were rooting for Clemson, but thought Bama would win.

The only disadvantage is Burrow's been the most accurate QB ever lol

Hopefully it's a great game tonight, I'd be stunned if Venables finds a way to slow LSU down too much.
