What’s a realistic finish for next years team if no Fromm?

10-2?

I would say 10-2 is fair. 11-1 is very doable considering the schedule minus Alabama will be easier than this year (swap Notre Dame for Virginia and we get Auburn at home)
We’re still stacked enough defensively and in just general talent to overcome an deficiencies (I.E. 2019). How much worse can a freshman be than Fromm was this past year?

Impossible to say without knowing who the QB is. If it’s Beck, 8-10 wins is possible but I’m not sure I’d wager any higher. If it’s a grad transfer, could see 10-11 wins

Beck worries me as he takes a lot of chances with the ball.
If fromm leaves I want a duel threat guy as this o creates plenty of QB running lanes that we currently can't leverage.

How in the world can you answer that question w/out knowing who the QB is gonna
be?

They're losing Bryce Perkins, who was basically their entire offense.

Don't think this is an answerable question until the dust settles from transfers and signing day tbh

Not without Perkins

You guys really think we are going to get a Jalen hurts level grad transfer ?
Assume it is Bennett or Beck

All the high school receivers in their interviews, for some reason, rave about Beck. Nothing but praise as far as I've seen.
Granted we're talking about high school kids, and they're probably just enamored with the appearance of a 6'5 QB with a rocket arm and tree-trunks for legs, who they know committed to a top school, but he's also thrown to a lot of them at camps and none of them seem to complain about him at all, so he seems to be doing something right.
I agree, though. I really want a QB who has some wheels for a change. It doesn't have to be a true dual-threat guy, just a pro-style capable guy who can also escape and beat LB's and DE's to the first down marker, and maybe even effectively run the occasional RPO just to make it that much harder for defenses to scheme our tendencies.
I'm so sick of the statue QB. We don't need a Kyler Murray/Lamar Jackson clone, but just no more guys who can't even beat a freaking DT to the marker or have zero capacity to juke a stunting LB with a simple lateral step so they crumble in place instead for an 8-yard sack.
This is why I can't wait for a kid like Vandergriff or Caleb Williams.
I honestly suspect 10-2 next season with or without Fromm, unless something changes like Coley replaced or maybe RB's and WR's drastically beating expectations.

Even if our offense sucks how much drop off will there really be?
We can lean on that defense and go 11-1 and probably be back in Atlanta for 4 in a row seccg appearances

I agree, and do believe the WRs played a big role in our problems...along with the OC. That said, Fromm has to shoulder some of the blame, too. He wasn't as accurate as he has been in the past. That can be blamed on a lot of things, including poor route running, lack of separation by WRs, some type of physical problems or whatever. But there was a lot of blame to go around and all of those areas would need to shoulder their share of the blame.

I was thinking black powder pistols, but this would be entertaining as well.

This would largely depend on what UF looks like after NFL departures. We controlled that game this year, but with a true freshman at QB, a poorly timed turnover could have easily swung it the other way. UF isn't a great team by any means right now, but they are reasonably well coached under Mullen and they aren't as talent deficient as they were 2-3 seasons ago.
Making it back to ATL in 2020 would be dependent on winning in Jax and not shitting the bed somewhere else, particularly with a road game against Alabama on the books.
UF's schedule in 2020 sets up nicely:
SEC Road games: Ole Miss (new coaching staff), Vandy (more or less auto-win still), UT (improved but they've had a Florida jinx for ages)
WLOCP in Jax
Home: LSU, USCe, Mizzou, UK
I would anticipate them losing no more than 1 other game on the SEC schedule than us, so losing in Jax would likely be the difference between going to Atlanta or not in '20.

What’s the status of the potential graduate transfers out there? Any of them worth a flip? Why is that not an option being discussed?
