I’m a nick man.

Brown. Overall character makes him more fun to watch, for me. He really embodies what the game should be about. Nick was a straight up savage, though.

Nick in college was insane during 2010, but I will take both.

Nick. He had one of the greatest seasons we’ve ever seen from a DT.

For on the field performance it's Nick and it shouldn't really be that close. Nick on this 2019 defense would put Auburn in the playoffs.

Fairley could win games as a DT. That’s what elevated him

Nick would have taken a 15 yarder at some point of this season but their would be a broken arm for some olineman and the holding would have ceased.

I'd take DB for run blocking and NF for sacks and overall impact on a game.
They are both elite DTs. Were lucky to have had them

Fairley but only for a game.
Brown, if healthy, will have a much better pro career.

Brown. If only for being good for more than one year.
ETA: I'm having a case of recency bias. I just watched the video posted earlier in the thread and I remember his DSOR and Iron Bowl games. I forgot how big he was in the BCSNC and the LSU game that year. Dude was a damn monster. But I'm still picking DB for longevity. He's been a legit 4 year impact player.

Nick Fairley was like a wild animal. At times, our own coaches couldn't control him. I'll never forget Trooper Taylor running after him with that towel trying to chase Nick off the field after he almost started a brawl late in the Georgia game. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Nick Fairley by a country mile. Brown is good, but while brown is bitching at refs about missing holding calls, fairley was cleaning grass off his visor after planting a qb on his arse.
They held fairley. They cut block fairley. It didn’t matter.

Brown all day, how is this a question?

The answer is easy. If you can make a opposing QB's momma get on Facebook 8 years later and spew her PTSD from watching you maul her baby...you are special in my heart, especially if that momma wears red and black.
Fairly could decide to change the game, and do it. Double teams, holds, cheap shots be damned. It didn't matter. He did take some plays off, but the plays when
Auburn need him to change the game. He delivered.
Brown, is probably a better team mate, captain, and leader on the team. The guy never loafs or takes a down off. He is the epitome of never quit. He's a class act and is universally respected across the league, even by our rivals.
They were both awesome to watch wear the orange and blue. I'm excited to watch Brown one more time.

Nick Fairley dominated the SEC. Pretty much unblockable. Go back and look at the LSU & Oregon games
