Opinion on the Sark

Just looking for the Bama Board's opinion here.
There were some doubters when he came in this year to take over the OC duties.
The timing of him coming back in regards to wrapping up Young will prove to be a game changer for the next 3-4 years at Qb. Young will ge a generational talent for us imo.
The reason for this thread is to gauge the opinion of the option of SS succeeding Saban as the man.
He clearly has his act together now (look at the falcons this year).
Imagining he keeps a "clear head" so to speak, what would the thoughts be of Steve taking the reigns after Saban decides to hang it up?
He checks a lot of the boxes...
His UW team was pretty decent...
Can't judge him on the USC debacle can we? His mind wasn't clearly on what mattered.
Anyhow, makes me wonder.

I think he did a great job, especially when Tua went down

No doubt.
Even with our all time WR corps, he played a damn solid game as a backup in that environment.
Sark deserves credit there for sure.

You really can't complain about an OC of a team which put up over 500 yards and 48 points per game.

SS gave Alabama every chance to beat Auburn. The one INT returned for a touchdown early was bad but the one where they returned it 100 yards was bad luck and timing. Jones carved that defense up all day and really should have won.

Right?
I mean, Locksley put up some crazy #'s, but to a point, his offensive scheme caught up to us in the end.
He, (Locks) had almost a full season w TUA...
The pace Tua was on this year was scary if he would've stayed healthy.
I just wonder if Sark has what it takes to run a program like UA if and when NS hangs it up.

Not much to really complain about. I look forward to seeing him developing Bryce Young.

Steve Sarkisian has shown himself to be an excellent OC. If Bo Scarborough's leg never broke, he'd have a damn near perfect Alabama tenure.

In the pre-season haters’ defense, the guy coached players that didn’t need a coach.

Overall Sark did a great job. There were times in the first half against LSU where his play calling got a little spotty but overall Sark did a great job. I'd give Sark an A.

He was put in a near impossible position. I love me some Lane Kiffin but frick him for being such a dip shite after getting that FAU job. It had to have been bad for coach Saban to let him go 6 days before a national title. Cost Alabama another national title. I like Steve Sarkisian he's a pro.

Sark was fantastic this year. I hope he sticks around a while

Sark has been great! Not much to complain about at all, what he did with Mac in the Iron Bowl should erase any doubt anyone has of him.

The question is could he keep his mind right? Because Bama is more of a pressure cooker than USC.

He’s done a nice job. He still tends to get too cute at times, especially in the red zone, and overcomplicates things but his offense moves the ball very well.

While I agree for sure, at the time though, USC was in the spotlight a bit. He took over in some strenuous situations.
Regardless, now, he seems to have changed for the better.
Handling the full duties of the head of a program such as Bama is big though.
If he sticks around another 3-4 .. idk...

Yes my most critical.
But that game, and it's turnover mistakedness out of character nature ...
His second half was really great though.

Same stupid play calls inside the Red Zone that he did with the Falcons. 1st & goal at the 2 against Auburn. No I won't run that brute that got us down here. I will call some Lane Kiffin cute 2014 against OSU type play action pass that gives the game away.
Until Bama gets an OC who has the balls to run it on 3rd & short they will be making reservations for the Citrus Bowl every year.

I just don't think their play calling is the same. Although they both were proctored under Chow. Sark likes the running game a little more I think.
We can all get mad at every play that didn't work in our favor. Sometimes though, that's just football.
