I don’t know the circumstances but man this stuff seems out of control. The dude likely has a great chance to play next year but already wants out? Does anyone have any patience now? It’s flat out insane so many want to transfer for not instantly playing

The best DB in Bama's class this year. Huge loss, that is the 3rd 5 star caliber defensive player Bama has lost since July.

We either have a talent identification issue or a talent retention issue.
You can argue either way, but we have a major problem and without Tua to mask it we will have trouble staying elite if this isn’t addressed.

Or, these kids don’t want to put in the time or effort to earn their spot. The transfer portal is only going to make it easier for them to leave at the slightest sign of inconvenience.
Honestly, I think this is where the process is going to lose its edge. It is alway about the next man up, but if the next man up is not willing to stay and earn the spot, then we are going to have issues.
There may be a shift from taking the 5* to taking the kids that want to compete and earn their spot. I don’t know...just some rambling thoughts from a Gen X.

Yes I don’t see how coaches can have concrete plans in regards to recruiting needs and roster management when it is so easy for players to jump on the next shiny thing to come along

Seems like some of these kids are trying to use the portal as a threat. Fishing for a reaction from the coaches. Not a good look.

I'm not seeing these top defensive players transferring from Clemson, Ohio St or Georgia.

We do profiles on all of these kids.
We knew Alfano was on his 4th high school or whatever and why.
We knew Anoma was a mess coming in.
It’s unfortunate but I think we are taking more risks because we are getting pushed on the trail by Clemson and UGA and probably have to in order to keep up.

Clemson had a running back transfer to A&M and a starting linebacker to West Virginia or Maryland I think . But keep tearing down Bama, don’t let me get in the way
