Man these guys are like the little step brother that beat you in HORSE one time when you were drunk and it’s their milestone achievement in life. They are the de facto National Champion of the Participation Trophy Generation Athletic Association since Arkansas had to negate the title.
And for the record, No, LSU fans are not obsessed with A&M. We don’t even consider A&M a rival. That was forced by the SEC. We are only obsessed with teams that have cheerleaders who don’t play touchbutt in Dickie’s clothes.

I’m sure you’re a great guy, and this type of thread gets folks going—so bravo on the entertainment value!
But y’all (Tigers) should know that this whole rivalries thing—to us—doesn't carry the same weight or operational definition that it does for y’all..
When we affiliated w the SEC I learned quickly that the SEC views the concept of rivals as some form of honor or high esteem. IOW, to identify a team as a “rival” was to give them a compliment that most fans didn’t want to bestow.
That’s not how we (the SWC/B12) looked at rivalries. So we’re speaking different languages. For us, it was more of a longevity deal. Rivals were simply those teams we faced regularly who also brought other variables to the game (e.g., history, geography, social interests, a watershed event between the schools), which tended to amp up the vibe of the game.
It was never about W-L record.
I don’t get why this whole deal bugs some of y’all so much that you’d die in a ditch not to identify a team as a rival. It’s a game, kids.
But I’m trying to learn, ‘cause different experiences and whatnot.
