Lol you know your Low IQ back side of the D didn’t say “oh Burks has Gunter covered here, sell out on the run”. Don’t even play that shite.

You'd rather get excited about a play that didn't even count? Good Luck

Are you saying that a safety wouldn't play the run when someone who is covered takes off downfield, as if they're run blocking?

Yes, long touchdown passes are easy to hit when the defense believes it’s a run play due to the rules of the game.

I do hate to tell you this... but play action passes have been part of the game for a hundred years. They've tightened up on the rules about O-linemen being downfield so as of now the RPO is just a run with the option of pulling the ball from the RB and throwing a play action pass.

Err... as opposed to someone being covered taking off downfield like they do during a perfectly normal pass play?

Starkel looked better against the Ole Miss mop-up squad.

He looked better in one quarter than Hicks did in a whole half. This is a very strange thread.

I'm going to guess that someone took some Starkel sail threads a little too seriously.

It's a weak schedule of games tomorrow.

We have to entertain ourselves

Let me see if I have this straight. A covered WR can't go rushing off downfield?

Or do you mean someone who is "covered" like a lineman can't go rushing off downfield or it is illegal. Because if you are pitching a fit over that... we had a TD called back because one of our TEs accidentally lined up in a covered position. I've seen that happen quite a few times in different games from different teams.

So.... the rules that you sobbing about being ignored are actually being enforced. They have been for a couple of years now.

The reason a safety bites on the RPO now a days is the same reason they bite on a play action pass, they are looking into the backfield and it looks like a run to them.

I don't care who it was against, Hicks is completing 46% of his passes for 5 YPA while Starkel is at 72% with 8+ YPA.

Starkel gets the ball out much faster. Both of them missed possible TDs, but Hicks' was because he threw the ball unnecessarily as hard as he could to Whaley over the middle and high on what would have been an easy TD while Starkel's was because he didn't know the play/formation correctly, which is something that can be corrected.

Starkle is the best qb. Jerry Jones 's grandson should see some action.

I think you misunderstand- I and I assume most don't think we're now a threat for the bottom of the middle tier of the SEC. We're not delusional. We just think Starkel's a better qb easily.

As for myself, if we were still going with Hicks, it would not surprise me if we did not win another game all season (any game I mean, not specific to sec). With Starkel, we may actually beat last year's win total of 2.

Conversely, I'm not sure how you can watch that game and not come away knowing without a doubt that Starkel is the better QB of the two. It's plain as day.

So you're admitting the coaches are basically idiots for wasting all those first team reps on Hicks?

Yes. This is the point folks are missing. We aren't predicting we go on a 10 game winning streak. Starkel is the best of two options and it is hard to see how anyone could deny that.

People throwing hissy fits over us "melting" about whether Starkel is better then Hicks are so out of their depth they might as well be on another planet. Saying Starkel is better then Hicks at this point is just a question of whether you have watched the games or not. It is a done deal.

It is like debating whether Matt Jones was a better running QB then Ryan Mallet. You might love Mallet but is there anyone who is going to say he was a better scrambler then Jones?

I keep seeing people say that Starkel was head and shoulders better than Hicks against Ole Miss. Hicks was pretty bad but Starkel really wasn’t much better. On the garbage td drive against the Ole Miss back ups, Starkel was 7/7 for 81 yards and a touchdown. Prior to that drive, he was 10/16 for 120 yards and led Arky to 0 points against an improving but still pretty bad Ole Miss defense. Hicks at least got a field goal against the starters, and would’ve had comparable stats if the young WR corps doesn’t drop a few easy passes.

This Arkansas team is probably worse than last year, which is saying a lot.

Wait someone actually watched that OM-Arkansas game and didn’t think Starkel was significantly better?
