LSU is going to be a problem

Just watched LSU on 3rd and 17 throw a TD that was the dagger in Texas’s heart. In years past, Ensminger and O would have either run the ball or thrown a safe screen or something similar. Nope, not tonight. Burrow stepped up and hit a deep crossing Jefferson for the knockout blow. They put up 45 on a decent Texas team. They’re going to be a pain in the arse this year and I doubt we shut them out.

Yeah, they present a SERIOUS problem: joe burrow has the most punchable face in sports right now and I'm not sure it's actually going to get punched.

LOL, wtf game did you just watch? If LSU plays like that, we'll hang 70 on them.
If this LSU team played last year's Bama team, then maybe I'd be concerned. But our DBs are a strength this year, and LSU's passing game...while improved...is not going to light up our DBs.
OU's offense looks the most formidable so far imo.

Texas is so overrated it's not even close to being funny. They're getting way too much mileage off that Sugar Bowl laydown by Georgia.

If their secondary doesn't get better, Tua and our receivers will torch them. Meanwhile, our defense is superior to Texas'. Our secondary is probably going to be the strength of our defense, and they will cause Burrow more problems than the Texas secondary has. Not saying LSU can't beat Bama, because they could, but don't overreact to one game.

Their offense looks better for sure, but not sure about the usual stout LSU defense.
Probably a game, but LSU going to struggle with the better offensive teams unless they get better on defense.

Tua will eat that defense alive.

Most definitely. Coach O has improved as a HC and surrounded himself with good assistants. Burrow is a gamer at QB and they've got talent + experience - all which makes a pretty dangerous team.
That said, Texas does not have the defense Alabama does and Herman is not Saban.
It'll be another fun game.

The media will be rooting them on to victory against Bama, though. Just like they always do. Gameday in Baton Rouge last year was a disgrace.

I could be wrong but it seemed Texas ran a lot of zone and Burrow/receivers did a good job of finding space on field

Texas isn’t a great offense. They had a qb playing rb and have significantly less wr talent than us. I feel better about playing them tbh. They will score on us this year but i like us comfortably

Right? If anything this made me feel better about our game against LSU.

They can be pushed around up front. Their secondary isn't as good as the Rantards would like to believe. They have problems protecting Burrow.
We should beat them comfortably.

That's definitely going to help our SoS, so long as we can both keep it going until then.

Burrow and his receivers were very impressive but they still are not running the ball that well...plus when Bama is able to get pressure and play much better coverage LSU will have it much tougher.
Defense looked bad too.

LSU has a good team but in my opinion the only difference between this team and their team last season is they are better at WR and with Chasson back they have a better pass rush. I think they are the second best team in the SEC (just like last season) but they are significantly behind Bama.

True, LSU will probably score this year. However, Bama will still win by 2 plus TD.
LSU still has a very big weakness at OL and Joe isn't good under pressure.
LSU's DL is very underwhelming this year, Bama should move the ball at will.

They’re convincing theirselves that Texas has a better offense than us. Bless their hearts

Those folks are seriously delusional. Alabama is head and shoulders above Texas. Their OCD with beating Bama is approaching Auburn levels.

That's what we were saying when we were running our HUNH RPO spread last season. I fully expect LSU to continue to leak on D and when they have to have the power run in the red zone and short-yardage, it's going to be a problem. That is the tradeoff. Both Texas and LSU were flying up and down the field and by the end of the 3rd quarter, both defenses were exhausted.
