This team is atrocious... Still, and the offense is simply poorly coached

There's no denying it at all.. You're in a dogfight with Portland State and your situational offense and ability to make plays is beyond awful. You still can't find a QB that can actually take the team down the field and now you can't blame it on kids not knowing the system.

It's painfully obvious that this staff, despite whatever BS is fed to us, cannot put together a cohesive offense with what they have. I'll give Chavis credit, D looks better, but Holy shite, your playing Portland State, it should dominate.

If this is another 2-4 win seson with this easy of a schedule, I don't know how you can bring this staff back.

We’re fricking horrible. We’re scared to throw the ball against Portland state. Portland fricking state. I hope I’m wrong but I think chad just isn’t that good. Starkel has talent and he’s not in the game. Craddocks playcalling is dogshit. I mean just awful. We’ve got absolute studs at receiver and we ran it up the gut 80% of the day. Does hicks not know the offense??? What’s the excuse for not throwing the fricking ball. Why?? Why? Why why??!! Is our o line just that awful??!! I mean why? Why the frick do we NEVER take a shot?!! Burks and Knox should’ve each had 4 or 5 deep balls thrown to them a game. I thought Morris was gonna have a vertical passing attack all we do is throw bullshite drag routes to the tight end at the line of scrimmage. This is nothing like what Clemson does frick! We never push the ball downfield never!

It's completely normal for the playbook to be fairly vanilla until conference play. ESPECIALLY when next week is conference opponent #1.

Eh if we passed it 50 times and it didn’t work people would question why we didn’t give it to Boyd more. We threw it 34 times that’s not that bad.

It’s not the number of passes we threw it’s the routes we ran. I understand to play vanilla early on but that doesn’t mean you take zero shots all day. Every ball hicks threw just about was within 10 yards of the LOS he looked like a guy who didn’t trust himself to go deep and he still nearly threw 3 picks. A long out route across the field and the checkdown that boyd caught and turned into a decent gain are both picks against better competition

he was in no position to hold anything in the playbook back given that we only beat portland state by 7. after seeing hicks throw lame ducks all night im more confused why we didnt just give it to boyd/whaley for the entire second half.

not trying to roast hicks as this team did need a leader and i think hes filling that role. but still....if NS cant beat him out then we may be hitting the panic button on this season soon.

Petrinos teams always stretched the field against lesser competition and blew the doors off of the cupcakes we faced and that didn’t seem to hurt us too much in conference play when he was here. Never throwing the ball more than 15 yards downfield for the sake of not showing too much is not a valid excuse

We didn't start blowing out cupcakes until later in Petrino's tenure with much better teams than this one. We beat Western Illinois by 4, ULM by 1, and Tulsa by a TD under Petrino with the team closest to the talent level of this one.

I would take more issue with it if we lost. We didn't. Not sure there's much point in complaining about the playcalling when it's clear what the motive was. They obviously aren't going to call a game like that against a conference opponent.

I also noticed the passing game opened up a bit with Starkel in. He at least was taking shots over the middle. Another reason I hope it's Starkel going forward.

It's not fricking normal to beat a 4-7 FCS team if you're in the SEC jesus christ. This was fricking pathetic as shite.
