I feel for the Iranian team when I think about how they are getting punished for the actions of a government they really have nothing to do with.

And then I see them disparage our country and think about what would happen if our players said such things at a World Cup in Iran…. my sympathy for them disappears very quickly
Yeah I’m not buying the watered down group stage argument. Scoring multiple goals and winning multiple games is just something I will never take for granted given our usual results in these kind of big time tournaments. USMNTs of old would’ve lost these last two games or grinded out anxiety inducing draws.

We are however somewhat lucky that we haven’t played a team with a strong and creative attack that can exploit our biggest weakness in the defense but I’m gonna enjoy this ride when it lasts and no one can bring me down from that

I’m nervous but still more confident than I’ve ever felt in the previous WCs. It’s incredibly important for us to score in the first 30 mins imo….otherwise pressure is gonna build quickly.

Aussies could get chippy. I’m excited. LFG!!!!

I'm watching the highlights now and Turkey got a LOT more chances than i was led by believe by reading the thread from last night.

Turkey 30 shots (8 on target) to Aussie 9 (4 on target). Not what I was expecting when I woke up and saw the score

Great point and completely agree. No way they are going to come in too cocky and expecting Australia to roll over. Atmosphere in Seattle is gonna be electric
A turkey draw or loss tonight would be massive. They are the real competition in this group

I hope the Knicks do get dirty, that's a long way to fall if they undercut his legs.

Maybe time to step away from the tv and take a deep breath bud
Tonight was my first time watching amateur golf and I was glued to the tv. That was some really pure competition. I found it much more relatable than pro golf.
All crowds (sans masters) have turned rowdy when featuring an American vs European following the most recent Ryder cup. It’s truly a shame.

We’ll really just the players and this so far…but given how drunk people get at these things it’s likely here to stay
Crowd makes me want to turn it off. Complete embarrassment.
I want the last few holes to matter. No one other than Scottie stepping up. Rory probably gonna cakewalk

Williams has looked pretty sharp, at least in the 4th quarter. I doubted him but him and Ben Johnson look a few pieces away from being very good
