Florida/Georgia fans. How do y’all feel about the game being played in Jacksonville?

Honest question. I’ve always been on the fence about neutral site games in college football.

On one hand it’s cool and it has a similar atmosphere to a bowl game. I’m sure the players like playing in nfl stadiums.

But on the other hand, it kind of takes the game day atmosphere of being on a college campus away. And you’re playing in a smaller stadium.

Just curious if y’all like playing in Jacksonville every season or if y’all would rather play in your own stadiums

Edit: I don’t understand TAMU and Arkansas playing in Dallas. Jerry World is obviously a top of the line stadium, but it’s two teams no one cares about.

No offense, but you're a few months late to this subject.

I've tired of talking about it.

Again, no offense. Fellow Dawgs and Gators, chime in.

Y’all have been playing there for a good while now. I’m not sure when it started but the 2018 Georgia/Florida game was on SECN earlier and I was just wondering.

As a fan (both UGA/ UF fan base or college football fan in general), it's unique and pretty cool. Even better if you are in the 50/50 stadium. But it sure simplifies scheduling to go home/ home. And is a recruiting boost as well. I suspect the game, as we know it, is on borrowed time.

If they move this they'll regret it. The iron bowl is the iron bowl but when that fricker was in Birmingham every year, that stadium was on fire. The single best atmosphere I've ever seen to this day. It lost some of that when it went to campuses.

"Jax" or "Duvalllllll" both perfectly exemplifies the general laziness and low intellect of the residents of this city. What a shite hole.

Making my first trip to it this year.

I’ve always loved just in terms of the atmosphere it gives off on TV. I’ll get back to you about the stadium, city, etc.

I'm not going to honeymoon there.

Just tear the city up once a year.

I'm all for any opportunity to stay the hell away from the ballsack of the United States, the state of Florida. The fact that Jacksonville is the gooch is all the more reason.

Love it and I hope it doesn't move but I get why Kirby wants it on campus.

SO you have never been then? People literally spend all week down there. On gameday you can just show up around the stadium and someone tailgating will take you in with open arms whether you are an opposing fan or not. Its one of the best atmospheres to be in for watching college football. Twice ive gotten drunk enough I didn't remember the 2nd half and had to watch a rerun the next day

Hate it until they can find a site that is more neutral than 1 hr. from the UF campus.
Might as well be playing it @ Gainesville.

Before anybody brings up history, my stance has ALWAYS been based on the physical location.

It’s unique and awesome. Sucks to lose a recruiting weekend, but it’s a tradition. I want it to stay, but wouldnt be opposed for every 8 years they do a home/home or something.

Luckily, we have airplanes that can travel faster than buses.

Are you worried about the advantage for the Florida fans? Because us Dawgs turn it into a vacation.

I went last year with some friends for the first time, and I think it's a great environment and atmosphere.

The entire city of Jax is completely bought in to this game, and it showed. The Omni hotel had a bloody mary bar set up as you walk off the elevator on game day morning...and it was pretty awesome.

The landing was a craphole, but I've heard they're gonna revamp it.

Overall, it was a great time. Highly recommend, and I hope they don't move it.
