I wish they would do a 3-year rotation or 4 year rotation
Home and Home -Jax or Home and Home- Jax and Atlanta and allow the state teams host recruits at the neutral sites like when the game is in Jax then UGA uses it as recruiting window for Florida recruits and when it is Atlanta let Florida us it as window for Georgia recruits

100% of Florida fans love it and would never want it moved. Going to Jax for the Cocktail Party is my favorite memory from school. Saying it's a bowl game atmosphere is borderline retarded.

20% of Georgia fans want it moved because of a perceived advantage to Florida

How can it not be one team travels 3 times as far so yeah that is an advantage to Florida; hell Florida very seldom leaves the state of Florida

The travel times for each team is roughly the same, they have to bus the entire way while we take a 45 minute flight from Athens. The stadium is split 50/50. It's not an advantage to either team.

To the OP- the game should stay in jacksonville forever and it will be a very, very sad day for SEC football if it ever moves. I can't add much that hasn't already been said.

I like it and hope it never moves. Jacksonville is a great town.

I have been to the game in Jax and it is pretty cool, almost like a mid-year NY6 game.

The trade off though is you do not get to play your rival at home, and I tell you what, when big games fall in BR the town feels it for a week. I do not think I would want to give up a prime time home game every two years.

I've tired of talking about it.

Again, no offense. Fellow Dawgs and Gators, chime in.

I agree with being tired of talking about it but I do like the game in Jax. Good times, some years better than others.

You can't tell me that being 1 hr. from Gainesville isn't an advantage.

you act like we don't have any big games at home. Any time AU or UT come to town it's big. This year we have ND and aTm. In the last 5 years we've had bama and LSU. We get plenty of big games at home. Every school in america has what they would refer to as a "big game" at home. Only us and uf have the WLOCP.

you also aren't used to having the most unique game in CFB every season either.

WG just said

The location of the stadium doesn't matter. The stadium itself is 50/50 right down the middle, fan-wise. It feels like more UGA folks are always in Jacksonville during the week of the game and outside the stadium.

The stadium sitting within the state of Florida gives Florida no advantage. Mercedes-Benz is only an hour away from Athens, but that hasn't seemed to help us against Alabama.

GA/FL should always be in Jacksonville and anyone who disagrees is outing themselves as someone who has never seen the glory of tWLOCP in person.

I can.
We have an airplane. It gives us an advantage over the UF bus.

Have you ever compared a jet airliner to a bus? Who has the advantage?

kirby said this spring that the team got to media days in birmingham quicker than the one 2 years ago in atlanta. They fly to bham, bus to atlanta.

Just because gainesville is 75 miles from Jax doens't mean shite when we have a 45 minute flight to get to the same place.

At this point the argument amongst UGA fans is boiling down to two basic sides: 1. The students/alums/fans who have seen the glory of having the game down in Jacksonville and 2. The fans who don't want to travel all that way, so they just want Florida to meet them in Athens so it's an easier drive for the fans, even if it means only seeing them once every two years.

Tell me if the game was played in Atlanta (1 hr. from Athens) you'ld hear UF fans complain about the location.

When I suggested rotating it between Atlanta & Jax, you wouldn't believe the negativity coming from Fl. fans!

everyone woudl complain because that would ruin the WLOCP. And it has zero to do with location.

yeah no shite, because the WLOCP isn't supposed to be played in a dome in atlanta ya goober

Like Dirty said it seems like the only ones complaining are complaining about their own personal travel issues. If the game was in athens/gainesville you wouldn't drive down to FL (obviously) so you'd still only see the game every other year anyway. You have no reason whatsoever to complain about the setting of a game you can't even bother to attend.

Its a ton of fun as a student going to frat beach and then the game for fall break. Jax bar scene was just ok and would probably be more enjoyable on either campuses though. Biggest problem was the train wreck of getting into the stadium.

Who cares about travel times...you're comparing planes to buses.

We're talking about physical distance in miles (which is a fair measurement).

Why? Explain why travel time matters less than the physical mileage.

There is one thing on this earth that you can never get back and that is time.

And their complaints would only be about the drive to Atlanta, for THEMSELVES. There would be absolutely no advantage for UGA in Atlanta, just like there is no advantage for Florida in Jacksonville.

I'm sure the Florida fans around Atlanta would be going crazy and then anyone from the state of Florida would make the drive to have a weekend up here. Much like how UGA people plan Fall vacations around the trip to Jax.

The actual team will just hop on a charter flight and be in Atlanta within an hour. It is 2019. No one has an advantage at a 50/50 neutral site just because they can bus to the stadium in an hour over having an hour flight.
