Do you root for a “minor league” team outside the major confs?

I’ve gotten pretty fond of pulling for ODU and UT-Austin. I played both of them a few years ago in NCAA14 and kind of feel for the plucky guys. The only thing that bothers me is that for ODU, you don’t get to play in the new stadium.

What non-SEC teams do you follow?

I have a friend who is a GA on Mercer's football team, so I follow them and catch a game when I can.

ODU is a good one. The win over Vtech was amazing. Felt like something youd pull of in NCAA 14.

But for me, I find myself rooting for Hawaii.

Hmm. "Minor league".

Army. Which feels odd. They have multiple National Titles and Heisman Trophy winners after all, they certainly aren't close to being a P5 team but are they really minor league?.

I'll happily watch an App. State or Georgia Southern game. The same for North Dakota State.

Georgia Southern. Vanderbilt if you don’t consider it a P5 school.

Yes, my local team. I hired a couple of kids who play for Alabama a&m, but they are back at practice/school now. They are good guys and will hire them again if they wish in the future. I'll go watch them play some this year. Oh and I have known some guys that play for UNA(North Alabama), and I like to pull for them too.

I pull for Southern Miss except of course when they play State. I even pull for them when they play the other SEC teams just because they are good at giving those teams fits (at least they used to be from the 1970’s until 2011). In the present day, they are not much of a giant killer anymore. The 2012 season was a death knell for the Golden Eagles and though they have somewhat recovered, they will never be what they were prior to then.

University of Central Arkansas and Marshall. I honestly enjoy seeing Boise State have success. They have built a pretty good program.
