*A few notes*
- Bear Bryant & Steve Spurrier show up at the top of 2 different SEC school's lists. Not bad. Paul Dietzel just missed the Top 3 at both LSU (5th) and South Carolina (4th)
- UGA, TENN, and BAMA seemingly have solid continuity when it comes to coaches.
- That Vandy gap
- Ed O will likely move into 6th place for LSU by the end of this season, while Mark Stoops could move into Kentucky's Top 3.
Still working with this data. Let me know of any errors.

Surprised that Saban has that much catching up to do. He likely wont make it either. The Bear was impressive as hell.

Coach Bryant was at Bama 25 years, Coach Saban 12.

The Bear was very impressive but, as someone else has previously said, he has 13 additional seasons on Saban at present.

There's one of those records that will never be broken. McGugin's 197 at Vandy.

The Beat also only coaches 12 games a season max and most of his years were 10 or 11 max.

Stoops will end up being the 2nd winningest coach at UK for sure. He might well pass the Bear's 60, absolutely doable for him.
Hell...if he wins 8 games this year he'll be the only other coach besides Bryant with a +.500 record as HC here. I think 8 is pretty realistic for us this season as it is....so good things happening in Lexvegas baws.

Pat Dye's 99 wins is pretty freaking impressive considering it came in 11 years and he was hired just after UGA and Bama had won national championships and AU was like 5-6. Went 11-1 in 1983 and should have been national champs that year and finished the 80s with 4 consecutive SEC championships. Probably had the best team in the country a couple years in the 80s but never git over the national champ hump. Very similar to Richt at UGA exceot more impressive IMO.

"Winningest" and most wins aren't always the same. Putting their win percentages would be more indicative.

“Winningest” is generally used when presenting win totals.
Just wanted to show win volume here. Perhaps another thread.

We have had only 7 coaches since 1939:
Wally Butts 1939-1960
Johnny Griffith 1961-1963
Vince Dooley 1964-1988
Ray Goff 1989-1995
Jim Donnan 1996-2000
Mark Richt 2001-2015
Kirby Smart 2016-Present
That's only 7 coaches in 80 seasons.

You guys really kept Richt too long. Dude took Murray and wasted him basically.

For some reason I was thinking Holtz would be on this list but it's not even really close.

Damn good list for Mizzou.
Unfortunately, we've also had some really really bad coaches.

And it might be only 7 coaches in 100 seasons since Kirby is "home."

Which is why most schools top winning coach will not change. Coaches do not stay 25 years anymore.

They fired David Cutcliffe. Opps.
