Went ahead and added win% anyways, since I also believe it gives good context

Wouldn’t “winningest” refer to win pct. and not total number of wins?

Example: Fred Thomsen was 56-61-10 at Arkansas and Bobby Petrino was 34-17 at Arkansas. According to your logic, Thomsen is a more “winningest” coach compared to Petrino. Which doesn’t make any sense.

Arkansas’ Winningest Coaches
1. Hatfield .760
2. Holtz .735
3. Broyles .708
4. Bezdeck .686
5. Schmidt .669

My friends Merriam and Webster have their own thoughts on the matter

Bryant and Dooley only coaches with 200+ wins

Big 2

At one school. Spurrier has over 200 with his USC tenure added.

Yep, I get into this all the time with FSU fans. "We're the winningest program in Florida!"

Keep fighting the good fight brother.

I honestly didn’t know this was a misconstrued word until today.

Even Arkansas’ media guide states Frank Broyles is the winningest head coach in program history.

quote:

Frank Broyles’ arrival at Arkansas prior to the 1958 season marked the beginning of a relationship between Broyles and the institution. He served as athletic director from 1973-2007. With 144 wins in 19 seasons, Broyles ranks as the winningest and longest-tenured head football coach in UA history. His 1964 team went 11-0 to earn the school’s only national championship and No. 1 final ranking by the Football Writers Association of America. He led the Razorbacks to 10 bowl appearances, including nine New Year’s Day Bowls.

I think I’ll go with the school media guide.
