Georgia has the #3 RPI, 21 SEC wins (2nd overall in the SEC), 42-14 overall record, and 21 Q1 wins. They took 2 of 3 vs Vandy. 9-2 over their last 11 games.

Yet they are ranked #7 and there are doubts about a national seed. Georgia should be a lock for a national seed and possibly over #6 RPI Arkansas and #4 RPI MSU. State swept them in Starkville, but Georgia didn't play Arkansas.

Is it a UGA-MSU-Ark transference thing? State swept Georgia and Arkansas swept State so Georgia is the odd team out among the three?

The top 4 SEC teams should all be locks as top 8 seeds.

We are #6 in a lot of polls and computer projections have us as high as the 3 or 4 seed.

Were disrespected by the human polls (D1Baseball, Baseball America, etc) because of Head to Head record with Tech and MSU but otherwise there’s little to hold against us. Fortunately human polls don’t amount for shite in the grand scheme

I have very little doubt that Georgia will be a national seed.

In fact I'd say they are in the same boat that Vandy, Arkansas, and MSU are in. You want to play well to keep the momentum going but the SEC tournament probably isn't going to have a huge impact on your seeding. The temptation to rest some of your pitching staff has to be pretty strong for all four teams.

I think Georgia is a top 8 seed easy. If fact, I wouldn't argue with anyone saying they are the 2nd best SEC team.

I mean D1Baseball, Baseball America, etc where the week to week polling is a bit more political and audience appeasing

I think Vandy, Ark, MSU, and UGA are about all the same. Arkansas swept us. We swept UGA. Vandy played the easiest SEC schedule they could and Arky lost to Vandy. All are good teams that dont have many holes. All Top 8 seed locks.

You are greatly overvaluing the SEC tournament.

not really. i think we should be ahead of arkansas regardless. give me one more data point to prove it and im not seeing any argument for arkansas.

just to be clear, we could easily lose tomorrow. just a hypothetical.

Arkansas played a harder schedule and won the deeper division.

So could we, because we don't give a shite about the tournament and throw our secondary guys in it to save for the NCAA tournament every year. Thus why you're overvaluing it. Even if you do win, one win over us throwing secondary guys isn't going to move the needle. You'd need a substantially better performance than that.
