Alright, let's say you get to run JoMo off this year.

Who are you gonna get to come to Starkville? Mullen had some success, but he's gone. Joe got 1 year and was fired. Who's gonna be interested in that job?

Stop pouting. And stop complaining about fans. Write a bigger check if you want a better product, big man

You had an NFL dline. Mullen would have had that team at 10-2. At least you aren't the biggest idiots in the state. OM and the Luke buyout is laughable. I predict State will drop down to OM's level. That is kind of how the state works. Neither team will really look to win unless the other is winning. Connections and personality matter more over results in MS.

Mullen would have won 10+ games with the talent y'all had last year. Moorhead didn't have a single good win last year

Only game I see Dan winning that Moorhead lost would have been Florida, and that is only because Dan wouldn't be at Florida. Mullen would have been totally unprepared for UK to be playing well.

Auburn and A&M were pretty good wins. And he didn't need the top statistical defense in the nation to win those games.

So if he had 2016s defense he wins those games still right?

I didn't say he needed no defense at all. I'm just saying that he didn't need the best defense in the country to win the 8 games he won. Defense is important, and they played a part in every win, but they could have been not quite as good and we still win those games.

What the defense provided was an opportunity to win 3 of the the games we lost.

With the caveat of yes, Arkansas had its worst season of football ever last year and we were pounded by State, I was not very impressed with Moorhead's first year at Starkville.

Handed the best defense in the school's history on a silver platter and an offense that was at least mildly effective he went 8-5 and was very underwhelming. That includes some lopsided losses along the way.

Don't get me wrong... if Moorhead had coached last year's Arkansas team and taken them to an 8-5 record I'd be in favor of giving him a life time contract. But he was handed the keys to a Corvette and drove it like a Ford Pinto.

His offense looked completely lost in the 4 regular season losses. OTOH, in our 8 wins his offense managed to perform as well as any offense Starkville has ever seen. If he had managed to get just 1 TD against Florida and win that game, I don't think anyone would be questioning his ability.

State has never had a coach win 8 games in his first season.....but then, its been over 50 years since we had a coach leave for a bigger job rather than getting fired.
Jury is still out. His offense has to be able to generate some points against quality defenses in the future.

bullshite... the only way mullen would have had us 10-2 is if he managed to get 50 gallon drums filled with gorilla glue so he could smear it on our WR's helmets that way when the ball when through their hands it would stick to the helmet... this would only work though if he could have magically gotten a QB that could throw the ball.

10-2 was a pipe dream in the SEC if you don't have anything more than a run game. We didn't have those players because of Dan. Dan is a great defensive recruiter.

Mullen would have lost to LSU, AL and possibly the bowl game.

He shouldn't have lost both KY and UF, but we became almost one dimensional with Fitz. There's always going to be changes during a first year coach.

he would have lost to Kentucky. It was pouring down rain, we were 1 dimensional even more in the pouring down rain and we couldn't block their front 7. We had huge game changing drops against UF too. fitz was 11/26. that is what like 43% or something?

We always give a coach an extension to stay at 4 years. slight bump in salary which makes him the 11th highest paid coach in the SEC.

Because these damn coaches and their agents do everything possible to hamstring a school into believing recruiting is in jeopardy if the contract doesn't cover the 4 yrs a recruit will be there.

That shite got Auburn in to a fix with Gus' contract. He and Jimmy Sexton played Auburn like a fiddle and fleeced a 7yr/$49MM guaranteed contract out of that Admin. Who the hell pays that for a HC that averages 3-4 losses a year? Like Gus was packing up and leaving for that pile of shite Bert left in his wake at Arky.

That is awesome! Good to see "Skinny" Joe on the sidelines this year getting it handed to 'em again!

They must like what they're seeing on the inside. Joe is a loser though and couldn't win with 3 first rounders.

He's got the personality of a poor man. He doesn't think highly of miss. recruiting success even under mullen.
