That it plays so poorly against other top college football programs, or that it plays them so rarely?

Also, for the aggie poster who said on this board that Texas always chokes against good teams, this post is for you.

Only 3 of those teams have been relevant the past decade. How do Texas wins from 50 years ago takeaway from Bama’s dominance over the last 10 years? Didn’t bama wreck Texas for one of their championships in that run?

We don't get the luxury of playing a blue blood in the conference.

Who can ever forget Marcell Dareus destroying Colt McCoy and making him quit in the National Championship Game?

I mean, the Natty. THE Game of his life. Eyes of Texas Upon him...…..and Colt gets smoked, walks off...…..and says No Mas

Alabama doesn't have a rival that they play every year on that list, like 6 of those teams. So the only time Alabama usually plays any of those schools is in a high-end bowl game.

Meanwhile Notre Dame and USC get to pillow-fight one another over the last 15 years and claim to "be back."

Does this Asian's (Umlang) list make you feel better about Texas? Only half of those blueblood's listed are currently competing for championships.

People used to make fun of Bama for bragging about past football accomplishments.

Now that honor goes to the Texas and Michigan's of the world.

Alabama is the only blue blood with a prolific past AND prolific present.

Kids in college today have no idea that Nebraska, ND, and Michigan are blue bloods unless they’ve been told so

A bit misleading when it comes to "how many games played"...

Sure, those are the Top 8 programs all-time, but carry it a bit further and Bama's probably played more games than anyone against the Top 16 programs of all-time:

HISTORICAL PROGRAM RANKINGS:

#9- Penn State- Bama is 10-5
#10- Tennessee- Bama is 56-37-7
#11 LSU- Bama is 53-24-5
#12 Georgia- Bama is 40-24-3
#13 Auburn- Bama is 45-31-1
#14 Miami- Bama is 14-3-0
#15 Florida St.- Bama is 3-1-1
#16 Florida- Bama is 27-14

That's 404 total games played against teams ranked #9-#16 all-time. I would think Texas doesn't come close to that.

Secondly, yes Nebraska might be a historical blue blood, but its only because of their play from 1963-2001. During those 38 years they earned their blue blood status which is now in serious jeopardy of being stripped.

.... only 5 of Texas' 14 all-time meetings against the Huskers came during that time frame.

Here is the COMBINED college football playoff record of all these "blue blood" teams

t.u.: N/A (no appearances)
Notre Dame: 0-1
Michigan: N/A
USC: N/A
Ohio State: 2-1
Alabama: 6-3
Oklahoma: 0-3
Nebraska: N/A

Not including Alabama, the COMBINED record of those teams is 2-5 in the playoffs, 0-4 if you take away Ohio State as well.

Here's a more relevant stat.

Since "COLT GOT HURT, WAAAAA", t.u. is a combined 55-47 with 0 titles of any kind.

With regards to not playing many blue bloods I'd say it has a lot more to do with Alabama being the only southern "blue blood" and the only SEC blue blood. We don't have an annual rivalry with a blue blood for the last 100 years like the rest of the blue bloods on the list have had. Now swap blue blood for "teams that have won titles in the last 25 seasons and you could include teams like Tennessee, Auburn, LSU, Florida, Miami, FSU, and Clemson. All of which we have played numerous times lately.

Very true. I was trying to give him the benefit

Didn't his dad come out of the stands and walk off with him, after they told the Texas staff? Precious memories

Alabama is the only one that doesn’t have a conference matchup with someone else.

Cherry picking motherfricker.

Top Programs =/= "BlueBlood"

Where is Clemson on that list? Auburn? LSU?

You're a dildo-waving dumbass.
