When was the last time Notre Dame had a meaningful win?

How many of those 98 wins were 80 years ago?

It's been a hot minute. BCS and NY6 games haven't been kind to the Irish at all. Maybe FSU in 1993?

Pretty sure ND is 0-6 in BCS/CFP games with the average score something like 38-6. They have been blown out every time.

I hate these Big12 threads because they always have me siding with Bama...

Yeah, they ducked us for 80 years

Why wouldn't they? Alabama is the greatest college football program of all time

Yeah, they haven't beaten a team that finished in the top 5 since that FSU game in 93.

That was the night that started the demise of Longhorn football.

Bama clearly *only plays those bluebood programs in postseason when both are very strong teams - thus the roughly 45% win rate isn't really that out of wack.

As bama has never been in a conference with or had a historic rivalry with any of those "blue blood" programs as selected by that person, its not an unusual stat that they have played them less.

*only is not meant to be taken literally as it is used here

Not only that. But if bama were to play another six and win four, they would have a better win percentage.

Though the n value is still woefully low. But in the sec, we have a big six. And they are blue blood of the sec and that’s all we care about.

Oh good lord

6 of 9 vs Texas were in bowl games (1-1-7)
3 of 7 vs ND were in bowl games (2-5)
3 of 4 vs Michigan were in bowl games (2-2)
2 of 8 vs USC were in bowl games (6-2)
3 of 4 vs Ohio State were in bowl games (3-1)
4 of 6 vs Oklahoma were in bowl games (2-1-3)
3 of 5 vs Nebraska were in bowl games (3-2)

26 of 43 (60.5%) were in bowl games.

So what you're saying is they can beat Bama but not accomplish half the goals Bama has?

My response was in the justification of losing the games simply because they were bowls.

Interesting

This Florida fan is right. We need to focus on the present. Presently Smart is undefeated against Florida and Mullen is winless against UGA.
