So how come they were shutout by Bama by 29 pts? The same Bama team that almost lost to us?
Comparing scores is just a desperate alibi. What was the score of the LSU vs UGA game ? How about the AU vs LSU Game ?
quote:
And that has exactly what to do with Bama steamrolling the West last year? And steamrolling them in '19 as well. Don't see anyone coming close to closing the gap.
So the gap was created in one year ? What is Kirby doing to close the gap against the West ? He is 4-5 in Three years at UGA. Two blowouts and two shitting all over himself.

Georgia folks - if you can remember back to post-2004, how do you feel this point in the UGA program compares to that point? Similar? Different? The biggest difference I see is Richt was recruiting well, but Kirby is recruiting at a different level.
At the same point? Definitely similar. To deny it is dumb, imo. We are banking on Kirby building on this success. I loved Richt, and I think most, if not all Georgia fans did after the first 5 years or so.
I do think Kirby will continue to build, though. Only time will tell.

Desperate alibi? So again, please explain how Bama STEAMROLLED the West again?

Or in other words, he's 4-3 against the West teams not named Alabama. And all losses came on the road.

So he gets blown out by good teams on the road? Wow, what happens when UF and UT gets better?

Do you have Tebow or Harvin in your depth chart? I don't see someone that level yet.

This is interesting but Richt really started to even out and fall off a bit after that sample size you provided...I'm not so sure Kirby will fall off like Richy did but we'll see.

Richt didn’t have the internal drive to maintain that high level of play.

Irons you care just a little bit too much about this. That usually means only one thing.
You scared
You scared

the fear is real...and justified.

Or , I enjoy watching the UGA fans alibiing for their years of coming up short. It is like fishing for trout in a kiddie pool, just throw the hook in and watch them bite. Every additional futile year requires less bait to get them to bite. It is starting to take the fun out of it.

SIAP
Richt introduced hunh with initial success but SEC told him to stop and bc Richt is cuck, he changed his offense.

The big difference between Richt and Kirby is that Richter first years were more than a decade ago and Kirby’s first three years was 2016 to now. So a lot was probably different for Richt like the technology, tv shows, etcetra

Define better? Better coaching and improved talent will help for both UF and UT. They are both digging out of a hole comparatively speaking, UT much more so. Will they win one every four years? Probably when they have their roster filled out and a senior laden team...sure it can happen and probably will.
NFL players selected from Mark Richt's last 4 classes (2012-2015) is 16 +1 transfer so 17 players for an average of 4.25 players per year. In Kirbys first year of having his players eligible for the draft he had 3 juniors get drafted and a transfer already get drafted in 2018 (Wimms). The 2016-2019 classes for Kirby will probably see a minimum of twice as many players (~35) selected in the draft as Richt's last 4 years.
The talent difference between the rosters of late Mark Richt and early Kirby Smart are drastically different. We finally have a Pittman recruited line with upperclassman. The ILB, OLB, and DB units have completely flipped from where they were. UGA will continue to produce RB's and get access to solid QB's. The WR room is improving and the D-line is starting to show signs of life.
This team is going to be deep, talented, and well coached from here on out. Kirby knows the SEC is a line of scrimmage league and he is resolving that issue. There are no holes in the roster other than backup QB and arguably TE due to early entry to draft and transfers. You guys said Kirby won with Mark Richt players and he did. Now he has his guys and the train is coming down the tracks.
In hindsight this team is so different than Mark Richt's year four team it's not even funny. Will we still trip up every once in a while? Sure. Perfection in CFB is extremely difficult. Are we in a better place now then say UGA going into year 4 under Richt, and more importantly than the last 4 years of Mark Richt. ABSOLUTELY.

Sure... if that's what you prefer to take away... run with it. It clearly matters to you more than it does to me. Go ahead and upvote yourself again. People definitely agree with you.

I actually think this nails it. I also don't believe Kirby will have the same problem.

East is down
Absolutely. Which is why the East had 2 teams in the top 10 and three in the top 15. It also explains why the East won the SEC for the first time in forever two years ago.
