Mississippi state overachieves almost every year considering the location of the school. It could be a hell of a lot worse.

For sure. I'd much rather overachieve with less than underachieve with more like aggy.

When Mullen lost to Kentucky at home in his 3rd game this season, his rep took a huge hit. Not even Zook, Muschamp or McElwain lost to UK. But he had a very good season from there out and Kentucky proved to be a much better team than anyone thought. So still in honeymoon phase.
Mike White has had the distinction of following our greatest shooty hoops coach ever. This last season def ended the honeymoon if last years loss in the round of 32 did not.
Sully is the one who could do no wrong and has been on a 10 year honeymoon....until this season. The pitching guru has seen our ERA balloon to the worst in the conference and our perennially stout defense is no more as well. If we miss the post season the honeymoon is over. Maybe so even if we make it.

I don’t think you get what honeymoon periods are. It can’t be over when we are doing better than we were. When it’s over is when we start doing poorly. With that being said, I agree that it is time for championships.

Luke-over; just wait until Thursday. Moorehead and Luke will hahve some explaining to do.
Bianco-over; this guy is a big time underachiever with his best class ever.
Kermit-he just bought/stockpiled another automatic honeymoon year.
Some of you are spoiled. The UF baseball and football coach are both in honeymoon territory.

I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Boom, I'm amazed by you

Well let me see here...
Chad: Over.
We were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but a 2 win season soured quite a few of us. That having been said if he manages a half way decent season this year he's fine.
Mike Anderson: Over.
And we fired him. The new coach has a mandatory two year Honeymoon period unless we go winless in conference next year.
Dave Van Horn: Over.
Over but we've settled into a comfortable marriage. We are at the Ride or Die stage with DVH. We will get rid of him only if the dreaded dead hooker or live boy event happens.

So a honeymoon lasts in a marriage until it starts to fall apart or does it start to fall apart because the honeymoon is over?
Eddie O’s honeymoon ended when he lost to Troy
Aranda’s ended when Miss St wrecked us in 2017
Ensminger’s ended vs Alabama last season

I mean Lemonis dropped a series big whoop. But yes Moorhead was one of the worst hires State has ever made. Goodness what a disaster it's been.

Honeymoon period is a period in the tenure of someone or something in which they perform better during that period than what their overall trajectory of their tenure ends as. Since O did better in 2018 than 2017, the honeymoon period can’t be over. I never thought of Aranda as having a honeymoon period and still consider him a top 3 defensive mind in CFB. Ensminger is the OC so if we are attributing offensive performance to him, LSU’s offense performed better after the Alabama game than before.

Heh, the good old days of the honeymoon.
For Gus, we are to the point where everyone now sleeps in a separate bedroom and if this season goes bad it is time to tell the kids that they better start packing weekend bags.

We’re 32-8 our fans have got to chill about a bad series.
Also our fans are dumbasses drawing conclusions about Moorhead after one year.
Overall, State fans suck, a lot and won’t let themselves have nice things, evident by our MBB team this year.

This has to be one of the truest statements ever made.
