Using the advanced formula of NRTSEC (Nevada Record To SEC), implementing the Johnson/Fox coefficients of Nevada record vs SEC record and applying the % of Nevada wins = SEC wins, Eric Mussellman's average regular season at Arkansas will be :

20.2-10.8 (9.8-8.2)

Mike Anderson's average regular season record over 8 years was 19.9-11.1 (9.9-8.1)

So Arkansas is still Arkansas outside of the hand check era?

What's wrong with a hand check as long as you don't get a "little rock" from it.

At Arkansas, we have been saying that for about 10 years.. the answer is in today's game your entire team will foul out.

Soo, basically Arkansas can't play the style it wants to play because basketball as turned into a non-contact sport. That's probably the main reason why Mike got fired, we need somebody to come in and bring a style of basketball that is more in line with the rules of the game.

It's not as good as a reach around.

Yeah, basketball has always been interesting to me. It could be played physically, as long as people played respectfully. Just like football. Some people know how to play with and through contact, but others? Might just let it get them worked up. Many variables, here.

Bring back the bb that the Celtics and Pistons played during the Bird era. You had to be a man to get on the court. Now, not so much.

CMA didn't recruit well enough to have huge holes every year or so, he didn't develop players to their fullest potential and played what many proclaim as "street ball". The hand check fouls ruined the style to some extent.

Our extreme defense left wide open shots once the press was broken as well.

I haven't a clue how musselman will do here overall, but recruiting alone should improve, and he is a massive analytics person. He broke down 20 hours of film on our current roster prior to arriving to the presser. He is meeting with each player individually and going over the film with them, making suggestions and plans of how to improve their skills, etc. We shall see.

one thing is for sure, when Arkansas is much better in Basketball, Basketball in the SEC has been more fun overall. WPS!

That was fairly ugly basketball though lol. There has to be a happy medium.

Present a better model. How did Anderson do compared to Fox (overall) and add in recruiting, money spent, facilities, and priority of basketball. Georgia doesn't care about basketball and that's why Fox didn't have success. Mike Anderson was very lazy in comparison to Eric Musselman.

Your right about a happy medium.
That was a time of hard fouls under the basket. Roughplay.

The medium would simply be rationalism. Don't foul to hurt people, don't foul to be an arse wipe. Play physical, hard nosed basketball with some composure, and it would be fine.

I guess I’m confused here but as a connesueor of hog basketball we’ve never been a knock the shite out of you and try to injure you type team. Hand checks yes, a-hole play no.
