Alabama is currently in the field of 64 per both ESPN and CBS, and we aren't even the last team in. We are the "best" of the First Four teams. It's all irrelevant, as we will lose to Arkansas and in the 1st SEC Tournament game, but holy shite this tournament needs to contract.

You’ll win against us, we shot our wad last night against Vandy. We will be back to sucking by then. You’re welcome and good luck in the dance.

Yeah this is the worst bubble I’ve ever seen. You can thank the PAC 12 mostly. A major conference only having one team in potentially leaves 3-4 spots open at least that should be filled by that conference

This is true. 32 teams would be much more realistic. Hell, add the other 32 teams to the NIT format and make it prestigious like it used to be.

SO just conference tournament winners and 4 at large teams? You are saying that only 4 of LSU, UT, Duke, UNC, and Michigan St. get to make the tournament?

This is the correct answer. The Pac 12 is historically awful this year. That conference sucks at both football and basketball because their traditional powers in both sports are bad right now.

So a shitty bubble one year means the tournament needs to retract? Talk about an overreaction

This is exactly how people react with the CFB playoffs.

The Pac 12 hemorrhaging money at the same time that football and men's basketball are beyond horrible tells me that they are going to make another run at Texas soon.

Seriously, it doesn't get talked about as much as it needs to - the Pac 12 is in serious financial trouble. They have the most expensive conference office expenses (in the rich area of San Francisco), the most travel expenses (Pullman Washington to Tempe Arizona to Boulder Colorado) and they have the highest paid commissioner.

And their big market cities - LA, San Fran, Seattle do not care about college sports so their network is tanking.

Its a mess and only adding Texas can fix it.

I was being a bit factitious, but this is far from the only shitty bubble year.

There is no need for the 4 extra teams they added in 2011.
